"I... may have..." then a sigh "Yes, it's a trod that.. I discovered" He smiles

"You did not discover it!" Ariel says

"Used it before you did ," He points out " SO.. I discovered it"

"...Do you want to meet the kittens?" Obviously, that is the most important business at hand!

"Cool" he says which is kid for yes!

Ariel beams "Oh look, one got out already" She turns to see the tabby observing

"Oh, silly... Mamacita won't like that."

Indeed. Mamacita does not know this new boy, and into the box the unruly daughter goes!

Kitten sounds of protest at this undignified action

"The tabby is an explorer. But Grey is, oh, look, see? Always hungry..."

Indeed, the mother begins to feed them.

"Oh.. I'll talk to them later then," Jack says

"You can talk to animals?"

"Well, willow whisper.. I am.." he pauses "Ranger trained"

Ariel rolls her eyes "Lots of folks can willow whisper"

"Can you willow whisper animals?" Jack says

Ariel squirms "Not.. ..yet.. no."

Jack nods "There you go. Ranger trained"

"What kind of ranger?"

"Well, Chief SHacklebrekker is a park ranger... but I'm thinking of eventually learning to use two scimitars and getting a magical panther friend.. as I brood from the shadows in the great arctic lands" He says

Brow-furrow. "Why would a ranger have a panther?"

"Cuz.. it's cool" he says a bit surprised someone is challenging the panther thing

"What if the panther eats you?" Ariel says

"it's not going to eat me, we're going to be buds!" Jack flap says exasperated

"Panthers are pretty wild." She agrees with Ariel.

"Yes, but this panther is magical... and will be summoned by a magical statue I carry in my pouch" he says "And it will be my friend"

"So.. .you have the panther trapped in the statue and it has to do what you want?" Ariel says "Are you sure it's not a pokemon?"

"it's not a pokemon!" Jack says offended

"I think there is a cat pokemon..."

"the panther won't be a pokemon!" Jack declares!

"don't yell, it's rude and it upsets mamacita" Ariel says

"And Scribe Constance."

"What IS going on?" speak of the scribe and she will appear? Constance looks down

"The tabby tried to escape, but Mamacita got her back. Now everyone is eating."

"And..who is this?" she looks down at Jack Flap

"I am Jack Flap of Rivervale" He says "Ranger apprentice and Ember of the Hearth"

Constance nods "I see. Please, keep it quiet. This is a library slash study"

"Sorry, ma'am" Jack Flap says pollitely looking a bit chagrinned "I won't bring dishonor on my homehold"

"We'll be good!"

"Thank you," Constance says gently "Now, let the kittens get used ot your scent but don't forget to eat. You girls atl east have gone without for a bit"

Jack nods and lets them get a scent.

And Jack asks quietly "So.. this is Jessica's place?"

"Yes, Jessica is the Countess here."

"Neat. She's the older daughter of Chieftain Brekke, you know? And the Mountain.. Sir Frank. I know both her folks. I live wiit them. ..though I'm not their kid or anything"

"Oh, I'm not anybody's kid."

"Oh, me neither" He nods "My mom was kind of.. well, sucky. I hope to get a new one one day, better one , but it coudl take time" he sighs

"I don't remember my mortal mom very well."

"When I chrysalized, they brought me to the hold."

"oh right. Sidhe are different" He nods "most of them. Brogan's okay. He's Dame Kerri's squire"

"Rivervale has sidhe?"
