Elsewhere, a tiny sidhe is staring transfixed at jellybeans and a catermelon. Her book is on the floor beside her. (Salma's is likely very open, with a burro-nose presse dup on the pages)

Jack Flap sees a redcap... guarding things so.. he walks backwards.

Demos looks over and barks something in Spanish

"Los Quiro Tacobell" The boy says

Demos snorts and waves the boy awaaaay from the door/trod, unaware Jack is NOT from here... after all, lots of kids.

Jack Flap nods, and trots down the hallways

Ariel is reading her own book, but looks up from it more often than the other girls look from theirs

SO she spies Ellie NOT reading. Nope. Kittens!

The kittens are giving mother fits as they are, however wobbly, more prone to moving away and thus require more frequent pick ups. One kitten in particular seems to willful about exploring, but most of them try it at least once.

A little giggle as the tabby seems intent on escaping AGAIN.

Marion's ears go up expressively, perhaps the feline equivilent of 'that child will be the death of me' fussing melodrama that mothers sometimes get into, and she trots up to grab the tabby by the back of the neck, and with practiced ease carry her back. Why can't she be more like the sibling that seems content to stay put?

"Because she's an explorer, mamacita."

Mamacita's expression says this is not a comfort to her.

The lazy kitten rolls over and yawns.

Currently in the lead for the 'most likely to become a fat and contented housecat'

The tabby explorer? Sulks.

She sneaks out a hand to gently stroke the tabby's head.

Touching is allowed, but it has been hard not doing it as much as they want. The books and things say it can stress the mother out so keep an eye on that. While Mamacita Marion watches, for now she seems to accept. The tabby? Well, this is a sensation is novel still, and she likes it.

Ariel pets another gently "We're supposed to be reading" A whisper

"Shhhh..."

Ariel shushes.

A conspiratorial grin at the satyress.

Mamacita isn't sure sh'es crazy about this petting but for now she.. wait, what's that? Her keen eyes look at the door way.

and she goes into stalker/check it out mode.

"What is it?" She looks the same way.

Clatter of hooves in the hall. But... Ariel is right here!

"Diego?" She wonders, and slips away to investigate!

mamacita moves with her.

And sure enough, a tabby slips out after both of them.

She sees a boy leaning against the wall outside the door... he appears to be humming his own stealth music

He's a satyr.. no horns yet.

"Oh, you're new!"

"...Nuevo!"

"New Wave O? You don't look Mexican" He says "Now the redcap did. is this.. uhm. Fenix?"

"Oh, you speak English!"

"Yes, this is Fenix."

"Yeah .. no habla espaneol?" He definitely does not. Ellie is by now trained enough to catch the mispronouncing "I'm Jack" He says "Jack Flap, and I am from Rivervale, the most awesomest freehold in the world!"

"Nuh uh... I've been to Rivervale" Ariel says "It's nice, but the farmhold is nicer"

"Rivervale is Countess Jessica's home, right? With Miss Gerd?"

"Is Gerd here?"

"Yes... and nope. I don't think so. Though she might be," he looks about and then whispers in a conspiratorial way "She can go almost annnywhere"

It would appear he was about to defend RV's standing over that of the farmhold, but Ellie's quick questions threw him off

"She flicker-flashes, yes! But if she didn't bring you, how did you get here?"

Jack Flap says "Well..." He puffs up "You know, I've been training under a ranger.. so I'm like Aragorn in the lord of the rings almost.. only shorter and .. okay, not as good at sword skills but ... ranger trained .. so I have my ways"

Got to impress the ladies.. even if you don't really much know what girls are good for. He learned that on the streets.

She raises an eyebrow.

"You came in through the door, didn't you?"

"It's a trod, I knew it!"
