"Hm." She pauses to assess, then moves to her favorite chair near the window that lets in the sound of the sea.

It's relaxing. In fact, if she's not careful, she might fall asleep

She rests just a moment, then picks up another packet of letters to read through; petitions from those who had trouble traveling.

It's easier to think when she's not on display, when she's got a private space to focus without worrying about appearances, or ceremony.

She sighs, more content than weary. It is quieter, she can think.

She read the letters, those seeking her help or favor.

Some of the ones cattering her favor are just, well, kissing ass to a degree that's almost off putting. Help? Those pull at her a bit more.

A request for healers...

a request for help with bills... or food, which would reduce the bills

a woman talking about her son on drugs.

some of these are heart breaking

She starts to sort them in order of priority.

And then, a knock at the door

"Come in." She lowers the papers.

Duff enters in, and closes the door behind him "I hear you fled the throne"

"oh, hello. Fled? I wouldn't say fled...."

"I'm jesting" He moves to her, "Okay, you've sorted. Which ones can I help you with?"

"You don't have to....."

"No I don't," he agrees "So which ones can I help you with? I'm sure a few fall in my ability to aid"

"She looks through for any."

It's grim, but the drugs thing is right up his alley.

She offers him the letter.

A look, a nod "You want his dealers driven out of town, or just the boy rehabbed?"

"Both."

"Done." A nod, "When's the last time you ate?"

A faint frown as she thinks. "I had breakfast."

"And that was.... how many hours ago?"

"What time is it?"

"About five minutes till one"

"This morning. 7?"

"I see." A brow "The boggans need to bully you more. You want your food brought in here, at the table in the hold, or do you want to out with me for a late lunch?"

There appears to be no option where she does not eat.

"In here, please..... Will you stay? Join me?"

"I will" He says

He motions for a passing boggan to bring some food

Jessica scans the letters again.

To her surprise, she finds one letter.

Duff sets the food down for them both

She huffs quietly, perhaps more at herself than Mitra. Then she starts sorting letters into geographic areas of responsibility.

Duff notices this , "Mmm new system?"

"Hmmph." Agreement?

A nod, "Sensible." Approving "Pretty sure you can eat while you sort"

She nods, and glances at her plate.

Burger and fries? It's amercian food day

That gets an eyebrow but she picks it up to eat.

This is not some fast food rush job, this is good meat, great buns lightly toasted, and all the fixins on a burger the staff knows she likes.

She's had steaks that didn't taste this good

Duff enjoys his own.

The food finally gets her attention as she realizes she is hungry, and she sets the papers down to eat.
