Jessica may feel like she's going mad. The County is just so big. Everyone wants something, and no one wants more than sidhe nobles.

She sighs, looking through the papers and shifting on her.... well, given her rank, really the only word that works .... is throne. Although it makes her uncomfortable.

She has some help, but misses Mooney. Ash, the new (old) Beaumayn has been of great assistance.

Diego has the same advice as usual "Tell these greedy nobles to cut their whining out"

"Diego, some of it is whining. Some of it is a real need."

"Fine, but..." He holds up one letter "This request for sole access to the Dreamers on a street? The Noble isn't the only one who lives there." He picks up another "A request to be bumped to the front of the list for any fire mare offspring?"

She lifts another paper. "Refugees here that need help, and he's not prepared to supply it. I mean, literally, he doesn't have the resources."

"mmph, likely story" Diego says

"Diego, maybe it's because I'm a sidhe noble myself, but we're not all horid," Ash says, "Jessica, you might want to take a look at this letter"

She offers her hand for it.

The letter is Chimerical, and has an academic sort of feel to it

A sigh.

"Can we have someone copy this? I'd like to send it and a letter of my own, together, to Rivervale. To my mother. Please."

"Of course," Ash says.

And Constance the Scribe is summoned. She has been very busy indeed as she handles most responses and always makes copies for records.

"Thank you." With real gratitude and she makes sure the scribe has a refreshment at hand.

"Quite all right, Countess" Unlike her boyfriend, she's got no problem with the title, "How many copies would you like? One for you, one for my records and one for your mother?"

"Records and my mother are fine. Don't send without my letter, please."

"Of course not," Constance says, "It would defeat the purpose."

Diego raises a brow "Some seelie satyrs might want to go, the Unseelie tend to enjoy the chaos a bit more. Pretty sure Nancy is staying though"

"Good."

Constance takes notes "Did you want to dictate your letter to your mother to me and have me do the writing?"

"No." Quietly. "I'll write it."

A nod from her.

"Speaking of trolls, " Diego says "More food from the DeBukes. How they do it in winter I don't know. Though to be fair, it is chiefly this..squash. Mountains of squash"

"Squash is a winter food, and Iowa is a lot colder than........" She trails off.

"Well, than us, yes" Diego says "Surely o ther things grow in the winter?"

Then he pauses "Jessica, what's wrong?" Noting her trail off

"Just wondering what we grow here. Now. Like, in winter en el Norte."

"This is a metropolis, not exactly farm country" He smiles "But... wine grapes, those I can tell you about"

A head tilt. "Do so."

And he relates about the grape yards going on even now

"A good harvest and ... um, lots of wine?"

"Well, a lot of agriculture in Mexico is regional as well."

Jessica thinks. "Could we.... repay? Or just gesture, during the Winter?"

"Ah, Jessica, I can repay them in wine. You don't want to be in debt to the DeBukes I take it?"

"I don't know that it's debt, Diego. It's .... if they were your tragos, would it be debt?"

"mmm I suppose not," he admits "But I don't want it gnawing at you. So sure. A few bottles of friendship right."

"Okay."

"Thank you."

"And as for grains and such, I'll have to do research,m but maybe as a follow up" He nods "You're welcome"

"Good."

Dil comes in from patrol.

Jessica nods in greeting.

"Your excellency, " SHe says a deep breath, as if recovering her own, She bows , of course. "Would you like my report or should I give it to the thanes?"

"I, um, I can hear it."

"Not too much to report. I gave a stern look to some kithain who were complaining about dreamers being 'greedy' and informed them Sir Jack, a noted Liam, works the same patrol if anything Escheat breaking was tried. I think it was mostly talk. There was a withered chimera, poor thing had gotten too much banality, a lovely monarch butterfly of changing colors. I gave it some glamour and took it to a safer place. I punched another knight and got an apology, and helped a boggan with some chores painting her roof. There was also some kids painting on the side of the building, but it looked like it might be art"

Jessica's expression is grave. "If we can help the monarch butterflies.... I would like to see that."
