How she got there, well...

"You ain' wrong!" She cackles happily at his devious brain. "So, you askin' for a build, or you wanna rent one?"

And out they go, leaving Jessica and the toddler behind.

"Hi." Quietly.

"I think a rental will do... " Duff says "Oh, if I have to insure I want to know up front..." And he's gone too.

"Blutoo" The child seems overjoyed to see her up and about and gives a hug and cling.

"Aww..." she gets a careful hug back.

Shuri is just an adorable child. too young to understand a lot, but she gets missing people and clearly she's missed Jessica.

Shuri does however have a face scrunch at the marks on Jessica's arms that linger "owie suk!'

"Missed you too. Yes, I know. It will get better. Do you have any ouchies?"

Shuri thinks about it, then raises up her left elbow . it doesn't seem injured but she did hit the not so funny bone earlier

Jessica kisses it.

And her phone rings.

Shruri gives an immense look of relief! How did Aunt Blutoo know that would fix even the memory of the annoying sensation!

Yup. Ring and a hug.

But as the ring is from mom... Jessica might want to answer it

"Its my mom. Sit with me?" Then she answer it. "Mom? Is everything ok?"

Shuri sits

"Jessica. Hello." Brekke sounds pleased despite her economy with words. "We are well. Gerd told me you called briefly. Is all well there?"

"We tried to contact you when we heard there was conflict, but were told you were handling matters."

A sigh and a long pause. Brekke can -see- Jess trying to sort out what to say.

"Jessica...." A gentle verbal nudge.

"It got complicated."

"Complicated," she repeats. A pause. "Jessica, are you well?"

"Blutoo fall dow!" A small child's voice intones

As shuri explains

A brief sound of amusement. "Who is that?"

"That is Shuri." A breath. " A neighboring Gwydion baron was abusing Unseelie childlings. I took action to get them out of there. He countered with incursions in Renaissance. I repelled them. Ended up with Countess Danya here, he attacked-her-, I came to her aid, we both ended up, um, hurt. I'm only now up and around."

"Hello, Shuri," Brekke says as Jessica takes a breath, then she listens quietly to the rest of this. At the end, she repeats, "Only now? Jessica...how long were you 'hurt'?"

"A month. 28 days, technically."

A very quiet pause.

Jessica waits.

Shuri says back "hiii"

Eventually, in a very measured tone, "Summerstrike lives?" The sense that on some level she would like the answer to be 'no' cannot be completely concealed.

"I'm.... not exactly sure. I don't think so. I was told he is deposed."

"Mm." Some satisfaction. More quiet outrage. "And you, now? You are...better? Healed?"

"Yes. But tired." Pause "A little overwhelmed."

"Yes. Of course." Pause. "I wish to visit you. I know your father would wish it, as well."

"Surr, anytime. You guys know that."

"I was going to come there, I hear about the dragon...."

"Yes. It approaches yet. We are preparing. But we can travel to see you. I will ask Siv to take us...she will be eager to show off her new ship, and it may be swifter than the Kestrel in this case."

"Ok."

"Expect us later today or tomorrow. I will call if that changes. Oh...and Gerd has very specific plans for what to do if you ever hang up on her again. I told her I would let you know."

"Gerd can...." Jessica snaps, then stops. "Ok, mom. See you then."

"Yes. We love you, Jessica." Then she adds, "Goodbye, Shuri."

"bye.." waggle fingers at phone

And she hangs up.

Jessica thumbs the phone off and puts it away.

"Mom and dad and Siv are coming here." She explains.A

Shuri nods sagely
