Beltaine South of the Border!

Granted, times are difficult. There are so many refugees.... and on 1 May, there are cultural influences. Jessica does her best to observe them.

Preperations for Beltaine, plus Mayday, well, it's a bit of a madhouse, add to that refugees and other duties, and it's thriving.

Jessica does her best, very -aware- of her duties, as always. On Beltaine.... it's special.

Love is definitely in the air, something Jessica, shy as she is, has always felt self conscious about and yet ,some how it's all going so romantically for many and .. hardly tawdry at all. New books for the introverts range from the merely spicy to the truly pulse pounding, fine chocolates of various origins have arrived. New dresses and suits easily altered for men and women , one dress for jessica is..well damn it, it's beautiful. It's clearly labeled for her, and is not some mini skirt either. Rather airy and elegant.

Sir Jack notices one pair of fine leather gloves unclaimed, and uncharacteristically, slips it on. Mitra observes "Almost makes YOU look like a gentleman."//"There's an advantage in deception" He smirks "As you Eiluned know." /Mitra rolls her eyes but eyes another dress more her size and fusses "Where is it coming from? Who is outfitting our beltaine?"

Who ever is doing it, it's been a blessing. Resources can now go to mortals that weren't available before.

Jessica stares at the ... confection. "Mitra? Any ideas?"

It is Diego who comes out looking dressed in finery of Old Mexico, lace and all, who has a theory "Some of these wines are from France, Italy; other liquors include Vodka from Poland's lowland region and I believe Saki from Japan itself. Whoever our benefactor is, they are well traveled. These are not just summoned from amazon... soemone has selected these"

Jessica blinks at Diego's... outfit. "Wow. Um. Ok. But.... back to the question? Where the hell did this stuff come from?"

Jack tilts his head "Any Tennessee whiskey?"

"As a matter of fact, yes, some Scottish too, which if you know your liquors you know is the only...."

"AHEM, " The EIluned eyes the booze hounds then turns back to her liege "Chronos didn't give me a great look at who did it... but it doesn't appear to be poisoned our booby trapped. I Thought I saw a horn though"

Jessica shrugs helplessly. "A horn? Sorry... I'm sorry Dame. Look, let's...." She seems at a loss.

"A satyr horn, curled... that's normally a sign of age..." She goes on.

"It's Sir Bachdion" A voice says, Fontaine assures "Isn't it obvious?"

Jessica looks around. "Fontaine? Sir Bachdion sent this stuff?"

"Yes. I am sure of it... he flicker flashes, he's been all over the world, and he's restored. He's also a Fiona..."

"Fiona" Jack and Mitra say together as if discussing a particularly silly breed of forest creature that one cannot get to act sensibly and must just watch as it fumbles through

Jessica sighs in agreement. "Right. Ok. So... he's back. Everyone respond accordingly."

"I don't think he is back, boss. We would have seen. This stuff is just appearing outta nowhere" Phobos says//Demos nods "Damn goat can just do that. WHat's to keep him from planting a bomb?"

"The fact he's not a nutbar madman?" Jack says

"Ok, less comforting that.... So do we go full-warning on the Trods and entries? Or not?"

"What good will that do? He 'teleports' the stuff here" Mitra says

Jessica's jaws come close, tight. "Well we'll talk to him about that, won't we?"

"Do you have his number?" Mitra asks

"Ribbons have arrived for the childlings" Rosa calls out "Ten baskets"

A deep sigh. "No. Look.... just... check everything carefully."

"Well sure, you want the blue ones?" Rosa says confused "I mean, what are we checking for?"

Diego says "Take it from a man who KNOWS terrorists, that old goat is no terrorist. He sold out and is comfortable. He's not going to bomb us"

(Pause s cene)

"Yes, but if he could, anyone could? Anyone with the right arts and motive." A frown. She found something to worry about.

Phobos looks at his brother, "Idiot. See what you did?"

"No, it's a good thing. We -are- at war, technically. Can we get Tito Woden in here?"

"He has a phone, I'll text" Mitra says

"Thanks." Jessica is chewing on the vulnerability.

Mitra says "Jessica, you might want to consider no one can be 100% safe"

Tweak enters the room slowly, one hand helping Shuri toddle her way in. The baby is carrying something that...well...yes, that does look like a pint-sized flame-thrower.

"Case in point, babies with incinderery devices"

Tweak looks about as proud as she can look...and she's wearing her good coveralls. "Check it out! Babygirl gonna light a bonfire herself!"

"Ah... " Mitra says "Tweak, no one is doubting your daughter is wonderful, but ...isn't that a bit... well, if she sets fire to the walls, we could have a problem"

Tweak looks shocked. "Y'think? Really? Huh...gee, I sure ain' never thought of that shit. Whaddya think, Shuri?"

"Right. Case in point." Jess agrees.

The little girl (with her little workshop goggles) says "Fwoom!" and takes aim at Jess's throne.

"Now, Shuri, Moony over there be thinkin' that ain' a great idea..." Tweak chides, none too effectively, as the baby pulls the trigger.

"No no no, Shuri. Please."

"Oh jeeze...."

"Holy.."Phobos "SHit" (Said in spanis)

"That's not what I..." 'Moony's' eyes widen

....and a spray of flame-colored silks shoot out the front of the gun and flutter in a jet of air, flamelike. Shuri, pleased as punch, cheers, "FWOOM!"

And Tweak turns a bland look on all of them. "How stupid you think I be?"
