"Clem, we've got some hungry people down here, and they don't have -anything-. Can we work something out?"

"oh shoot!" She blinks "I am so sorry. You're at a flashpoint for it ain't ya?"

"I'm sandwiched between two other Baronies, each of whom are looking to ... to find and secure resources within the caravan, chimera going crazy throughout, and desperate people, mortal and maybe Fae, who are dreaming of a better life. Or at least, dinner. So... Yes."

"It's not desperate for us, yet, and I'd like to keep it that way."

"All right. How's tthis for a bargain, we bring out a mountain of food, and if one of them turns out to be a troll or troll kinian, we'll smuggle them to the farm AND arrange for their immediate family?"

"Done." Without hesitation.

"We've got avenues in place to distribute; we're serving everyone, no biases."

"Well, of course not," She agrees "Everyone deserves a good meal. I maybe eager to find more trolls, but that don't mean I want poor folk to starve. You'll want milk for the young ones too."

"Whatever you can bring, Clem. We'll take care of your people, too, as much as we can."

"PShaw, We're doing fine, thank you. Da'an and nature both been right kind. Sides, if we're very lucky we'll get to pinch a troll or two from you"

"Thanks, Clem. Send it whenever you're ready. I'll have folks standing by. We're kind of all-hands on deck here."

"You do what you have to, and don't worry, I know the odds are slim. I don't expect you to find a brand new troll for us just falling into your lap." Wry.

"Ok, see, now that you've said it outloud for Da'an to hear you......."

"We found a troll by the trod" a voice says "New guy, boy is he lost"

Jessica turns to see who it is. "Clem, did you send someone already?"

"I just found out. Only DeBuke there is Coy, who b ythe way does not call his Great Aunt Agnes enough"

"I'll tell him." As she looks at the speaker there in TJ, and for any unfamiliar troll.

The speaker in question is Delfina, one of her first thanes who stuck around, and a relation to Diego. Big and Mean is how some describe her. The satyress could put a beat down ON most trolls.

"Delfina, hi. Is this guy a problem? Clem, talk to you soon?"

"Yeah, sounds busy there and I have to organize folks here. See you soon."

And she hangs up.

Jessica puts the phone away.

"Nothing I can't handle, but he wants to know if we have seen a pooka and THAT is a question with too many answers" She replies

"Fair enough. Let's see him, then."

mostly along the back, as if he was shielding someone from a fire

"What's your name, sir?" She's polite, not assuming a title.

"Arter" he says "ANd i have no idea where I am. "

"You're in Renaissance fief, Kingdom of the Feathered Serpent. Tijuana."

"Holy shit, from Paradise Cali to some funky fairgorunds, than another trod? Oh geeze. I think I overshot." He moves stiffly "I'm not sure how to get back up to that roof where the trod was."

Deflina raises a brow "The fairgrounds? He was near KC right? that's where that trod went"

Jessica nods. "That's the fairground trod, yes. No one else has come through, Delfina?"

"not that we've seen but that doesn't mean they couldn't have" She shruygs "Seem damn unlikely"

"Sorry, Arter." She looks him over again. "You look a little... well, run ragged."

"It doesn't matter, what matters is my motley. "Luned, Sage, Tolly..and even Smoke. WIth the hold closed we had to flee through that crazy trod... I thought I had them, but..." He looks at his hands "I lost them. THe fire welled behind us. "

"Burned your butt and back real good too," Delfina says

Jessica frowns. "Tell you what.... we have healing ways here. Come inside, get healed and rested, I'll find out what I can about your motley and we'll set you up to keep going. Ok?"

He looks unsure then, "I'm sorry, I'm being an ass. You've been nothing but kind to me and I've been one track, didn't even ask your name."

"I'm Jessica King. This is Delfina, one of our security people."
