The visit to the pitt was interesting to say the least, and apparently oddly cleansing. Jessica returned and could almost feel herself shifting to Seelie again, and with that realization came some ah... well... her upbringing tended to make one a bit embarrassed about slips like that- thank goodness for Uncle Olgar's example or she'd be even more mortified. Sweet Danu, did she really offer sex for … mmph.

She sighs at herself. Blood, and sex. Yep. Practical, sure but.... She shakes her head, lost in thought.

"Welcome back," Dame Mitra greets her, "Not much happened while you were on patrol"

"Good." She pauses to think. "Dame, can you brief me on the plans for Samhain?"

"Well, you're normally reluctant to discuss them, but I believe there was talk aof taking more of it outside this year, allowing you a bit more peace"

"But other than that, much like last year. Not that we remember that in full... honoring the dead as the sun falls again I figured was a shoo in?"

She nods. "Yes." Agreeing with more purpose than she might have shown other years.

"Outside... what about mortals?"

"That's part of the fun as some are concerned," she says "But I think the idea is roving carnival more than wild hunt . Father V and Jack have hinted that even unseelie they'll make anyone who actually HURTS a mortal miserable." she sighs "I know you're fond of the house but some days Liams are the ender of all fun"

She doesn't rise to the bait, but nods thoughtfully. "I can live with that." She seems to have something on her mind.

"Did you have an idea or two? Diego says we have enough booze and food, and party favors"

She shakes her head distractedly. "I've had an encounter, or two, with the local Fae. I keep thinking Samhain should be a time to make contact again, but... they disappear pretty quickly."

"You're planning on turning this into a working holiday?" She raises a thin brow.

"Carpe Noctem?"

"Trollus Gravis, at least I think gravis is the latin word for obsession"

"My liege, " she says going on, "You may not REMEMBER the events, but you do know that as soon as the mists settle, you will be replaced for the eve?"

She nods. "Never liked that part but... yes."

"Then on what grounds will you be the one to negotiate?"

"Negotiate? -Contact-." She repeats, clarifying. "Make contact, maybe... see what the night brings them. Share.... I don't know, share some of the feast with them." She thinks. "Just... contact."

"THen there's the other problem, we don't know how the mists affect Nunnehi, but assuming it doesn't have them decide to kill you hide the body and no one even remembers where you went... you probably wont' remember the contact," She ponders "Well, unless. Omens and such are easier that night. Tito Woden might have an idea or three"

She nods. "I'll ask him. I'm not saying there aren't risks but.... "

"But Trollus Gravis" her friend and knight smiles.

Her lips quirk in response. "I guess."

"Just seems like an obvious opportunity."

"It could very well be," she admits. "I...is that a blue blutterfly in the room?" It is, a blue butterfly , non chimerical, has fluttered in.

Jessica frowns. "Blue isn't... usual, is it? Around here?"

"Actually, I'm not sure. I should study the local fauna more but there is something odd about..."

the butterfly transforms, turning into Clem DeBuke, who is dressed not in her usual farmer voile but rather more hiking garb, albeit with a Midwest meets norse flare

Jessica's jaw drops. "-Clem-??"

"Pardon Jessica, I'd have presented myself an hour ago, but this little sluagh boy got fascinated with me and... well, I got introduced to more bugs." A shrug, "No harm done I hope, but don't tell him the butterfly was a troll. Sounds like a let down for him."

She goes to greet Clem with a back-slap and a hug. "Tomas is actually kind of sweet. Clem, you know Dame Mitra?"

"I've had the pleasure," Clem smiles cheering, and returning the hug, "it is good to see you, Westward. Lord I cannot get over how warm it still is here"

She nods. "We don't really do winter here, not with weather anyway."

"I'll leave you two be," Dame Mitra says "And let the troll conspiracy continue " Ahem and she withdraws

"Troll conspiracy?" The DeBuke looks at JEssica

She shrugs. "Apparently, trollish duty is a conspiracy?"

"Well, that's silly, we aren't shy about duty" She shrugs "Sidhe seem to have a love of complicating the littlest thing. It's simple, there are jobs to do, roll up your sleeves and do it. Frilly dresses and full orchestra can wait. " A grumble "of course, sometimes one runs into embarrassing snafus with OTHER trolls."

She lifts an eyebrow. "Sounds like there's a story there, but... come on in, let's get something to drink. RC, right? I think we have Mexican coke...."

"That'll be fine, thanks" They head towards the kitchen "And yes, I've been temporarily exiled" A snort

"What?!?!" From the Farmhold??" She seems astonished. "Maria, can we have two Cokes please?" They are produced.

She takes it, "Thanks, Maria" Then "Oh yes, you know they're making me chief right? well I wanted that done before Samhain, certainly not on it. Trying to stay Seelie for it and all, so I try to help organize things... this is not new, I am a bossy britches, I know that. Well, apparently I've been surly and waspish, and Uncle Emmit actually handed me a snickers then said 'Nope that ian't it' , like he's funny" the tone indicating he is not. "Finally, the elders have a vote and Order me to leave the farm for a few days and unwind and relax? How am I supposed to relax when there's harvesting? ANd pumpkin season is at its busiest? "

Jessica nods. "I know. How are we supposed to lead and manage when we can't control ourselves and won't remember?" Some underlying frustration there.

"Was a time getting the job done was enough, folks didn't expect me to smile like an airline stewardess about it"

Agreeing with her and taking a drink

"Since when have trolls ever done -that-?" Jessica scoffs.

"You know, though...." Jess pauses thoughtfully. "I mean... Fourth of July and Thanksgiving I try to get home. See the folks, Siv. Those aren't really holidays here and Dame Mitra is great about taking over for a few days. It helps. Seeing family."

"Well, family is what I have 24/7 and I'm good with that, really... most days when they're not shooing me off" wry

"Going to be hard to do that when you're Chief, I guess so... maybe make the most of this opportunity?"
