"They got mean valkyries up here" the rejected soldier sighs

It is not that long when Clem comes in, straw hat, black bag, and yes weapon at her side. Jessica knows this because Phobos, who often acts as Herald yells "THAT FARM LADY IS BACK SAYS FOR HEALING!"

She's gotten used to it. Jessica heads for the most likely Rath. "Hey, Clem.... thanks for coming." She offers a sisterly hug.

"Sorry, did you say something? I think I'm a bit deaf in one ear" Clem hugs her back "You're looking good. Haven't let this big city living make you soft." A glance around "I see what you meant about crowds. Fellow trolls no less. Well, shoot, of course I'd help regardless."

"Thanks." She repeats, and leads Clem in to the wounded. "They were exploring a ruin, natives attacked. Not here, though."

"Well, thank goodness" She says "The 'not here' part, not the ''natives attacked' part ." She grabs her bag and gets to it

Jessica nods, and lets her work.

That soldier flirts with Clem outrageously, and Clem responds by putting the foulest tasting castor oil she can find in his mouth by a spoon ful as part of the bunk.

Jessica finds this amusing, but hides it.

Indeed, it seems to drive lessons home to many- don't mess with the healer or she'll find ways to tend to you that get the job done: but you won't like it

Meanwhile, Mitra returns "The Countess is sending a healer... who should be here shortly"

"Thank you, Dame." Watching Clem work.

"mm " Mitra says "She heals, but doesn't cook. So does not consider herself Hearth Worthy. SHe's a master at Primal, but her lore is weak in some areas so she's not an ideal mountain. SHe's a decent warrior, but not a storm. House Eiluned has been interested in the DeBukes for many reasons, most not as sinister as they think. This one.. I know she's your friend, but you do realize that aiding the DeBukes draws attention here from many?"

Jessica looks sideways at her. "You said we needed healers."

"I did, but you befriended each other long before this" The Eiluned seems to be scanning Jessica, evaluating

She shrugs. "We met years ago. At Firnost."

"I wonder if she was setting an agenda in motion even then, troll intrigues interest me" Mitra says "Or were you arranging for your own progression even then? Brilliant really, a growing net work of troll connections, and behind it all, Chieftain Brekke weaving a tapestry of blue in the name of charity and rescue, then one day, the sidhe look about and discover the trolls have retaken over a third of the holdings at least in number that they lost in the war. Brilliant. Wouldn't expect it from a Gwydion."

Jessica's jaw drops and she blinks at the Eiluned in astonishment.

"She trains you and other young trolls, they expand, but never quite lose contact...and either return, or at least visit. she aids other troll holds, and encourages the DeBukes, at least their most prominent wilder, to open up... thus expanding troll soft power and making alliance needful, where one alliance succeeds, others form. Trips abroad and quests alike, and more trolls join in her region and those that didn't spread good word. " The Eiluned paces a bit as she talks "at first I thought it a Liam scheme, but now I see a greater result is a troll resurgance, an by varying between commoner holds and lodges and noble ones- they can spread trollish techniques of goverenence, either diluting the sidhe born system... or even dissolving it Not with the fires of revolution, but like the waters that lap against limestone."

"-Brekke-??"

"It's diabolical" She says

"It's insane!"

"You're calling your own father's wife insane? Kind of harsh don't you think?" Mitra asks

"She's my mother, and if you think that's what's been happening, I think -you're- insane." She huffs.

"Well, of course that's what you would say if you were part of a conspiracy" she points out

"It's what I would say if I weren't, too!"

"That's terribly convenient, perhaps too convenient" she muses.//Just then, perhaps mercifully, Phobos Yells "ANOTHER HEALER THIS ONE FROM THE COUNTESS!"

Jessica just goggles at her a bit.

The Healer strides in, wearing the countess' colors of sorts, but nothing that marks him as a member of House Gwydion. Of course he is no sidhe

Jessica turns from Mitra, still thunderstruck, and collects herself as she crosses to greet him. "Hello. I'm Jessica King."

The fellow holds out a hand, "Uriel Clivemorton, pleased to furking meetcha" The nocker says

She shakes. "The other healer working is Clem." She gestures to bring him over and introduce the two.

"Fine, let me get my furking gear and get started, now, who needs the rib spreader..." He reaches into his own back and pulls out something that looks like it could remove car dents then nods to Clem "What've we got?"

"This sergeant has been bleeding internally,. but didn't seem to notice..." A snort "Rib spreader you say? It safe?"

"Nine times out of ten" he replies

The two go to work, and Jessica observes them. They have very different styles and argue when they have time, but when they don't, they work. Bossy, benevolent, gentle and firm. Fortunately, Mitra does not talk about her mom being a master intriguer. Come to think of it? where did mitra go?

Jessica does look around for her.

She's in her room. Jessica has been in her room before, but the Eiluned has added something new...strings connecting Pins on a board...symbols stuck on their, the troll kith symbol 🧌 being added "it all makes sense now"

She shakes her head, and manages to avoid rolling her eyes.

Methodically, the Eiluned keeps working. Putting up more strings with symbols of farms, flame, and ... fitbits?

Jessica leaves her to it, going to her room to make another phone call.
