He vents a put-upon sigh "A curse, certainly. Pardon... notes while it's fresh." and he gets paper and pen to work.

"Mmm..... alright. I need a hardware store but not our friend's, a grocery store, a liquor store, a pharmacy, and a paint store."

"Grocery store I've been too and checked out. Not too banal, but not a happening place for changelings. In other words so mundane I don't expect it to be trouble. Liquor store nearby has a Clurichaun.. loyalties unknown, bt there is another further out. "

"If we must skip a few stops or break the run up to different times, we can do that."

"Oh definitely, we can split up if you want to give me a shopping list"

"Hm. Is that safe, do you think? Granted we plan to be away as quickly as we can but we don't want Cecily connected to anything Abner may have done at the Freehold."

"THey're not a known couple?"

"With the number of boggans in the freehold, we should play it as your lawyers do." dryly.

"Ah..." A smile

"Coy, reserved." he clarifies "They'll think they know the truth."

She lowers her lashes and sways with hands clasped as if just a bit skittish, vulnerable

A sly smile. "Indeed." He checks the time "Can we run a few errands before things close, I wonder...."

"We can make it" She nods

He nods, gets into the driver's seat, and off they go!

OOC Well fuckity....

As they do their rounds, and go out shopping... a mistake is made, of sorts

They return to their RV, only to find 3 young men picking the lock

apparently trying to steal it?

"Here! HERE! GET AWAY FROM THAT!!" Abner grabs his fortitude with both hands and his shopping bags, and charges forward.

The switchblade pops out quickly "Old man, you are some kind of stupid"

"That's our home!" he squeals "Get away from there!"

He's not -fast- mind you....

Cecily squirms "Oh Abner, be CAREFUL"

"I'm not joking!" the guy with the knife warns

The other guy says "Brah, he's an old man. Don't knife him... that's stupid"

He hops up and down in indignant fury, flapping his arms (and the bags) up and down. "Be Afraid! Be VERY Afraid!!" (OOC Bunking for Haunted Heart)

Well that did it, the three youth scream in a panic. The one who had the knife drops it. The one picking the locks drops his pick. The third one, the voice of reason, says something about Jesus and bolts..with the other two behind him

Abner puffs and glares and .... actually, doesn't look too well.

And Cecily moves to him "Abner, your heart"

He sucks in some breath, and groans, pressing the bags into her arms and leaning into her.

She whispers in his ear "You better be faking this"

He grunts, and slips an arm around her waist. "RV." he groans.

And she hurries him in, helping with the steps. They get in, and she locks it "Wards are up" she assures

He straightens and bends backwards with a huge inhale. "Oh dear. I shall pay for that tomorrow...."

SHe looks him over, carefully and clinically "You really hurt yourself?"

"Need you ask?" amazed as he straightens carefully "I think I pulled something."

"you dingus, let me see" She motions and uses her hands over him

He chuckles darkly as she does.

She checks him out sincerely

"You have a heart attack an die on me I will be FURIOUS"

He check -her- out with equal interest.

"Oh, I will stiffen up dramatically by morning, Dearest, and brave Abner will soldier on despite." He grows more serious "Two attempts in the same town? I am skeptical of Chance, Dearest."

"They appeared to be sons of adam, STUPID sons of Adam. So if they were arranged, it was likely without their knowing they were set up"
