"Fine Satyr... doesn't let his position get him snotty"

"Oh yes, he handles the Baron's personal linens."

"Perhaps one day we'll meet." placidly.

And so it goes. That bit of news found out

Abner does a good job, as long as it takes.

And it is noted. The Steward sees him "Good work"

"You may have a future here" The troll adds

"I truly do hope so, Steward." quietly "I understand there might be interest in someone to work with the court childlings?"

"Oh, heard about that did you? Yes, the former lord had a program for childlings... and it continues, but we're short on caregivers"

"May I bring someone with me, if I can, next time?"

"Just to meet her."

"If you wish" A sniff "Expect no favoritism"

"Oh, of course not! Certainly not."

"Mmph" A nod "Do you want your pay in coin or dross?"

"Would... would dross be available?"

"Of course" he reaches into a pouch, and hands out a rubber banana and a twinkie with an old man's beard.

Decent dross!

Abner takes it with both hands, eye glistening "Thank you." softly.

"May I return for more work tomorrow?"

"Most welcome, and yes.. you may"

"Thank you." he says again.

A nod and the Steward turns to attend OTHER matters

"Could.... could someone help me find my way out, if I'm dismissed for the day?"

A stop "Oh yes. Ah," he says "Joesephine, help him"

"Thank you very much, I'm sure."

Josephenine walks him out 'How did your first day go?"

"Oh, very well. I thought. And I am to return tomorrow, so that's a good sign." he smiles.

"Great! Glad you liked it, Mr. Abner"

"This will be a blessing, if it works out, Miss Joesphine." he confides.

"Oh I bet it will! " She seems geniunely nice

At the door, he gives her a small bow "I'll return tomorrow."

And she waves!

And off he goes, back to the RV and then to the motel.

CC waits for him there, well, as Ceciliy "Hey?"

"Mmm." He steals a kiss "I'm in."

"Laundry detail. That will change details of my plan but the general concept remains."

A grin as the kiss parts "Oh my goodness. "

"And you?"

"Oh... anyone scrying on us is going to get a visual out of all in the family meets leave it to beaver minus the kids" she taps a ward "Victoria, that snooty bitch, made sure the lawyer arrived and was taken care of. Poor Cecily 'moped' a bit at a beauty salon and struck up a conversation with the locals"

"And what did she learn?"

"Well, she could barely afford the nails being done... poor girl."

"Mm. Speaking of pay..." he displays the dross, which, of course, he's kenned to the best of his ability.
