Abner looks blindsided and almost panicky "He... he did? How? That is..... I'm Abner. I ... is it right to present myself to his lordship?"

"It depends on what this is regarding? His lordship did not give full details"

"I.... I wondered if there might be a position available in his household? After I prove myself?"

"Oh, yes.. well, clearly you have the sense to know who is worth your time, and who is not." A nod "what can you do? Job wise?'

"I have served as an assitant wine steward." he admits "And I can do general household work, whether that is cooking, cleaning, mending....."

"Oh, Cup Bearer must be earned... what are you better at when it comes to cooking or cleaning?"

"I would say I'm ... competent, as are my kith."

"We do have a position on linens" He says "Enter in, we'll talk about it"

"Thank you." he follows the troll.

The troll says "I am Steward Lothor. YOu'll answer to me if there is trouble"

The Steward leads him to the linen area, showing him where sheets and such are kept

"Oh, I'm sure there'll be no trouble." and Abner follows along, a keen eye for details.

Oh the lay out is a bit labryintine, no doubt Eiluned Influence

But the Steward gives instruction

Nothing he hasn't seen before, albeit it's been a while.

And he is given help. Another Boggan, a freckle faced redheaded lass who while a wilder is so damned young it makes him feel ancient

(As if he needed help with that)

"Hello, miss."

"Oh, hello sir. I'm Josephine. They tell me I'm to help show you around"

"Very much obliged, I'm sure, miss."

"Well, we have a relatively new lord so it can be tricky to get the lay of things." Josephine says "Linens would be pretty simple stuff but some rooms are off limits to new staff. Security, you know?"

"You'll let me know which ones they are?" he peers around in confusion "Quite the maze, this place...."

"Oh I'll be happy too" She guides him along and gives even more details

He takes it all in. "I'm so grateful to have found a position, or the hope of one."

"Oh you'll be paid for the trial work. We boggans insisted. Work gets wages" FIrm nod

"Is... is there an option to be paid in Glamour or dross?"

"Oh sure... best way to get it around here" She nods

He looks immensely relieved. "Wonderful."

"Don't worry, sir. I know how hard it can be to get glamour " She almost says 'at your age' but lets it be

"I don't suppose you know if... if there other positions available?"

"Oh a few, but it's hard for the newcomers, sir"

"Don't mistake me, I'm happy to serve in this capacity! I have a friend, though..."

"Oh? what are your friends skills?"

"Oh, she's good with laundry, in the kitchen, she's wonderful with childlings...."

"Is she? Oh my. We could use help with some of the childlings"
Joespehine beams "The current Lord tends to, well, they don't interest him"

"Is he.... is he a cold man?" cautiously.

"Well, not banal, of course" SHe says "Just well, like many wilders of House Eiluned he prefers his own entertainments to caretaking"

"As is his right." the old boggan mumbles "Of course."

"Yes, of course" She nods

"I will speak with her about the opportunity!" he declares "Now... show me more about these linens. What is used where?"

And she does! He gets more intell of the lay out and even some of people working

Of particular interest, if he can find out without drawing notice to the interest, is who is responsible for what laundry. Clothes might need different measures than table linens. A nobleman's clothes, still more.

Oh very wise. There's also a pIskie, another boggan, and a satyr

Hard to tell which handles which at first

Nothing for it but to pitch in, then! It's work that allows for socializing, after all.

The Piskie seems a friendly fellow "THanks for the help" He sometimes nips odds and ends... and it's soon apparent he doesn't handel the NOBLE clothes for sure. Too sticky fingered

Of course. "My pleasure." he assures the fellow "Glad to have the work."

"You talked to Jinky yet?" He asks

Jinky? Clearly not
