A throaty chuckle at that "Not what I meant but maybe that too. " As they drive she ponders "Now I wonder if I shouldn't have seen how he'd respond if we asked his help protecting the poor kinain girl?"

"Yes yes, I suppose I sometime due the rules for thee not for me too. Sorry dear" SHe pats his hand

He chuckles again.

"Oh, the place had those French Roast Burnt Peanuts and some caramel popcorn. Want either to munch on? Terrible for us, but it IS a road trip"

"Delightful, let's have both."

"Don't mind if we do" she breaks them both open and they crunch. "We'll want to stop for a real meal sometime in the next four hours but this isn't bad. Are we hitting a hotel or driving through the night?"

"Which would you prefer?"

"I'm torn, lost time is lost time, but we both need to A) Pretend to be someone else who isn't in a rush, and B) Both need our rest to be at the top of our game"

"Agreed. Hm. Well, we -are- in an RV, albeit a small one. We can pull over and rest, and not lose more time than necessary."

"I suppose there is that." She nods "Not like our guises are five star hotel types

"Perhaps when all this is done I'll whisk you away for a week in Las Vegas, mm?"

"Oh, I do love the history there, so very tawdry. Did you know Nevada basically blackmailed it's way to statehood?"

"One of its more charming aspects, I've always thought."

"It IS rather endearing" she admits

"There we are then. A week's vacation in Sin City."

"Well, yes, I guess you won me over. Mmmm maybe we can take the Emberclub on the road and make it a working vacation?"

"A tour?"

"A short one" She assures "I love our home after all"

"I will look into it." he agrees.

"Oh I'll help there. I have a few contacts in the entertainment biz'

THey drive for a bit, uneventually, enjoying each other's company and the sites on the way. A BBQ place that also sells gas? Not unusual, the fact it has a giant pink statue of a pig the size of the RV? VERY unusual
