Coradel sees a very merry contest going on

Who seems to be involved?

Mostly Pooka, Zing, Vashti, Shallimar... but others have joined in, a few satyresses, an Eshu, and... oh, there's Lord Hume who looks like a hostage!

Apparently he has been 'asked' to judge... and looks like he's afraid the Real Zara will appear and haunt him for doing so

And where is this taking place in the hold?

Fortunately NOT the Library, they've commandeered a gallery

She observes the battlefield, and then strides into the mix. "Lord Hume," she says as she approaches, "what's all this?"

"Not my idea, I swear, Baroness" he says standing up

"No? But it's such an original idea! Bold and daring! Who claims the inspiration for this event?" She smiles sincerely and looks around the crowd.

She sees a skunk tail trying to sneak out behind others

"Ah! My Jester! Shallimar, please attend me. Now."

Still all smiles.

The tail stiffens, and...slowly, rotates... and a cute little skunk appears before her, and bows

Vashti says "But Baroness. I am Sparticus."

"I'm Sparticus too" Zing says "Actually, a quarter Sparticy, on my mother's side"

She regards the skunk skeptically, then looks to the other pooka. "I see. So. I assume that, as the organizers of this contest, you informed the other competitors of the inherent dangers? They are not all reckless Fiona, after all." A smile to the other competitors.

"I just thought I would look sexy as hell as a librarian" Stevi the satyress says

"Danger?" Zing blinks

"My sister's inevitable wrath" Vashti says

"Inevitable?" Zing snaps her fingers

The skunk makes skunk noises

"I thought about it" Hume says "Been trying to figure out how to survive it"

"Oh, quite inevitable, I agree. I mean, surely you can't imagine she would be amused by such mockery?"

"And..." the smile vanishes, and she drops her tone "I have it on good authority that her vengeance is enough to make even one of my house tremble."

(Charisma plus intimidation or Subterfuge)

((Hmm, I feel like her intimidation should be higher than 1, but I'll go with it))

"Thank goodness we have a brave Fiona to protect us!" Zing says "I declare haven!"

"Rescue!" Vashti beams "The Baroness is offering to rescue us"

That is NOT what she meant

but the pooka gather about her as if she were a troll guardian

"Oh, I think the most appropriate form of rescue in this case is experience and education, that you may better face such peril in the future. Consider it a learning experience." Oh, she'll likely intervene...but she doesn't have to tell them that.

The skunk nuzzles... adorably and ...she feels compelled to go on...

She looks around at the group which seems to be unimpressed by her edict...and her expression gets stony. "Truthfully?" She looks around again, meeting the eyes of each one. "I'm disgusted with the lot of you. Hume excepted," she reassures her heir with a nod. "I think most of you know how much I value and respect our Librarian. You know how beloved she is for both myself and the baron. You know the power and passion of her own partner, Sir Earl. You may not know of all her service to the hold, but I didn't think you needed that to care for her feelings. How dare you?!" she says, her anger growing, her eyes flaring fiercely. "Have done with this at once!" And while Shalimar may not have meant to unleash this, what is truly in her heart at this moment emerges in the form of Sovereign.

Eyes widen, as their protector turns into their judge, as sidhe are wont to do when they feel rightfully ired!
