Frank nods, catching on "Thank -you- for the call, doc. I got ahold of Dagmar, too. Have you seen her? I know she wants to talk to you." he bleeds quietly.

"on her way I'm sure..." Dr. Lee says "I'll call you later, officer, I knnow you have your hands full. We both would have better jobs if not for paperwork eh?"

The cop nods "I hear you, Doctor" And takes the cuffed man off with Bob's help

"Now" Once it's just frank and Dr. Lee, as far as the latter knows, "Let's get you stitched up. You're lucky, it's a graze. I could do this in my sleep"

Dagmar emerges, worry written plain on her face. "How's my dad?"

Apparently, "niceties" are for days when Jaymes hasn't been shot.

"Your father got shot in the heart... it was very touch and go," Dr. Lee does not coddle the young woman, "But there are those who give up and go, and those that fight. Your father is a fighter and held on long enough for me to stitch it together again.. it's amazing he's alive, but he did, and now will likely live. He'll be weak for a year I would guess. And there's a chance of complicatiton in the next week"

Of course, Dr. Lee doesn't know of heather balms and spring magics

She nods, solemnly.

As he talks, he has begun to stitch Frank up

"Can I see him?"

"Now, either one of you want to tell me why folks are targeting James King, or is this one of those things when I'm going o have a million questions, my wife talks to me, and then the next day I am completely okay with not knowing?"

He sounds almost resigned to the confusion of the mists after enchantment, but his features soften at her question "It's against policy, but policy is kind of FUBAR today. Don't shake him or excite him if you can" A nod back to the room

Dag beelines her her father.

He father looks.. hey, his glamour levels are better than she expected

But he looks so pale, even frail

Tubes and bandages.. almost bury whole parts of him

She reaches out, but stops. Not-touching.

She's never thought of her father as being...breakable, before this anyway. but now, she worries he might crack into pieces

She looks for a place that seems safe to touch - resting fingertips on a spot on his arm. "Dad, I'm here. Mom and CJ are safe."

His breathing seems to ease, but that might be her imagination

And a voice behind her speaks "I can ease his pain but waking early might be dangerous" CC is there "Don't you worry though. Bit of magic, Dr. Lee gets enchanted, and your dad has a miracle recovery in record time. "

"Why are you here?" Not hostile, but the oddity of CC's appearance seems to have finally hit.

"Is she legit?" Perhaps Dagmar is not surprised to have Symon's whisper come up unexpectedly from her side.

"Well, right now, working a bit of magic to keep the mortal authorities complacent," CC answers then raises a brow at Symon Damn. Didn't evenn see him appear

He eyes CC warily. "That's my dad you're talking about enchanting." A bit blunt for a sluagh, perhaps.

"Symon!" Gratitude.

"Relax Symon, I was actually thinking your mother would handle that part. "

Her voice is dulcet, smooth

"My dad... he... your dad saved him."

"I'll have you explain who you are, before you so easily go naming my parents." He says, bristling a little.

A nod to Dagmar, and he whispers to her, "Of course he did. My dad's the best. And your dad deserves the best."

She nods.

"This is CC. She's Caesar's mom."

CC covers a smile at something "I'm not the enemy, Symon. And yes, I'm Caesar's mom. "

"The apartment guy?" He asks, "That doesn't explain why you're here."

"Why would I be near my son's real estate?" A brow "Really? "

"Near real estate, maybe, though that's still a stretch unless you live or work there, lady. and Here HERE, in the hospital is one thing, in the operating room is another. I don't trust anyone I don't know, and I don't know you, and I don't know him." Straightforward. "Sorry if I'm being rude, but polite doesn't always get things done, and polite doesn't bring back the dead."

"She helped me find him."

"How did she know he was here?" He responds, wary still.

Shrug.

"You two do know this was on the news right? In fact, reporters, at least a banal ones are a real threat in their own way. If you like I'll help bury the story.. or at least rush it through the news cycle"

"She helped."

CC looks at Symon "And no, Symon, I don't blame you for being cautious. "

He looks to Dagmar, and back to CC, and shrugs a bit. "Appreciate your help, especially if you can keep names out of things."

A little begrudging, perhaps.

"I can do that" CC nods "Right of ignorance matters"

He frowns, thinking. "If it was just a normal hospital, I'd say to let them keep thinking that Jaymes was laid up here and unknown if he'd recover, even after we get him out and over to the Hearth for magicking. But I don't want anyone else coming in here looking for him, not with my dad on duty." He looks to CC. "What's your recommendation... and what's your angle? Few people work for free, even for the Escheat...

"So you want to know my plans, my methods, and my motivation..." The older woman smiles "There's blunt, annd then there's 'would YOU answer this stuff if tables were turned?'

"He's a... you know, and you aren't. Course he wouldn't."
