Dagmar didn't like what she saw on the texts. It was.. why did people have to go? Nadeen was plotting to go. Okay. Now Sylvi? But Siv's comment about animals certainly drove something home. There were things she could do that would matter

And Siv is mostly at Earth Runes, too... so...

A sound of cages clacking.. not official zoo cages either

Tubby makes a distressed sound.. and not just from the cold.

"Grab the young ones, Man... easier to manage"

"Why don't we just..." The other voice says "Just kill one of the big elephants, get their tusks? Ivory is where the money is"

"You think you're on a safari, assholes?"

And she sees them.. oh they're wearing 'kind of' uniforms.. but they don't look like they're quite right

One turns "Oh.. thank god, you found the ah.. little one. We're with the zoo authority" LIE //"Yeah, we'll be transporting these guys to a warmer zoo" LIE

the two appear to be mortals, no nightmares, not kithain, just animal theifs hoping to cash in

She gives them a look. "Try again. Those uniforms are bad fakes, you got fleeced."

"Look at that cute little bastard with her" //"Yup. LOok, bitch.. we're the GOOD guys here. I mean, we could just be killing them right so hand over that adorable little shit.. and maybe we don't hurt you?" he puts a hand on the gun in his waistband

She rolls her eyes. "Do you really wanna go from theft to serious charges, dipshits?"

"You wanna go from alive to dead? " they are frontinn some, she doesn't need the Boon to sense that they don't really want to risk gunfire getting attention

"Yeah, and you gotta book it out of here, past the cameras, after shooting a girl in cold blood. You're a special kind of stupid, aren't you? You think I'm here alone?"

Tubby gives an angry little toot!

As if to back her up

"FIne... Let's just go with what we got" They move to take the cages.. inside, some baby zebra and yes another baby elephant

Scowl. She waits for their backs to turn before taking a picture and texting it to CLem

TXT: (Clem) Oh for the love of...those asholes. Hang on honey, we'll head em off a the pass.

"She's taking picttures of us?"

"oh for. what? Just move move.."

And they try to flee, some folks just don't want to deal with this sort of shit

Up to Dagmar if she focuses on the animals here, like tubby, or goes to help the DeBukes catch these guys

Dag trusts the DeBukes - and doesn't have a gun or numbers.

So getting the elephants herded to shelter for warming is the plan.

the good news is, the elephants here are used to people, and with her natural gifts.. they soon follow her lead. One honery old bull seems to be a hold out and isnn't sure why he should listen to this puny creature

"Aren't you cold, big guy?"

Stubborn old wrinlke bag... but he no longer backs up. he's listening.. maybe even inching

"I'm here to help you."

Tubby makes little insistant sounds. As if to vouch for Dagmar.

The old bull, mmm grumble grunts in away that reminds her a ibt of troll grousing... but he trundles, slowly, after Dagmar

"That's a good guy." Encouraging, patient.

And it works. Soon... the elephants are safer...

Dagmar tries to look innocent. But Tubby is demanding scritches, so...

And so it goes.. the Zookeepers show up, a DeBuke assists the talk with a bit of Chicanery.. and Tubby? Oh he loveda scritches

the two would be poachers are confused, and will never be able to eat bananas again as they go to jail.

What kind of coward tries hunting in a zoo?
