A kiss back, "Hey, your mom invited me over."

Brenda shrugs "Your father and I figured if everyone is on guard, we might at least as well le you have a friend over"

"Thanks." He escorts Nab to the table Nd gets her seat. "Are we on guard here? The threat is at Rivervale."

"True, but we're all, with the exception of Bondraste most of us are tied to Rivervale atl east originally" His dad says "So it was suggested we might want to keep our guard up"

"Yeah, I guess." He sits next to Nab and continues eating, one hand in hers occasionally.

Nab squeezes it but doesn't act as.. openly affectionate as she sometimes does.

Which is ok with Adam.

"How are your lessons, Lily?" Brenda asks

Lily perks " i am studying dark and dangerous magic, staring into the abyss" then she smiles toothlessly "I made it blink"

"That's very good honey," Kyle says encouragingly "You show that abyss who's boss"

"You didn't make it blink.You made it sleey."he teases.

More burger disappears, and fries too.

(Sleepy)

"I didn't make it bored, I scared it back" she insists

"Adam, please tell your sister she's terrifying" Brenda encourages

"Lil! You're terrifying!" he says cheerfully.

mmm the little girl nods mollified

"Thank you" His mother says gratefully

A few chuckles break out from Bondraste and Kyle

and yes Nab

Adam grins at Nab, and winks.

Turns out all of them are trying to learn various cantrips or fighting styles.

Adam finishes his burger and munches hirs fries idly while the family chats.

And they do, they fill each other in on work, studies, encounters and more. Kyle admits to having to golf with Clients, "The current client cheats"

"You gonna let him?" Adam is sitting back, one arm around Nab's shoulders and if that draws her in a little closer to lean on him well... that's just the way the cookie crumbles.

"Thinking of using a cantrip to mess his game up to teach him a lesson. I'm not sure I want his business if he's going to cheat on that too but I could be being too ..trollish about it"

Adam shrugs. "What else are you going to be?"

"Mmm" He nods "Good point"

Another, modest, shrug.

"So Adam, you and Alanza have been dating?" His mom asks "She seems sociable. "

"Yeah, we have. She's a lot of fun, kinda crazy but fun."

"Kind of crazy?" Kyle says "Like quirky crazy or has a shrine to some celebrity with a lock of his hair crazy?"

Nab snerks at that

Lily looks intrigued at this latter definition

Adam laughs at the snerk.

"Neither. Just... she doesn't mind taking risks."

"I heard Eshu were like that" Kyle nods "They take chances"

"Well, at least your dates won't be dull"

That from Brenda

Adam might not realize the broad grin that's on his face. "They are."

Nab nods "Alanza knows some good stories too, though I guess that's also an Eshu thing. Get a cup of coffee in her and if she's in the mood, she'll make a shopping trip sound exciting"

"Heck she could make a shopping trip -actually- exciting." Adam says.

"It actually can be" Brenda says "I had to fight a mean old woman for a blue scarf at a flea market once. I swear the tried to trip me with her walker"

"Uh.... yeah. I guess I can see that."

"She did... and I was there first" Brenda says "I swear she was bitter"

"Perhaps you should have added sugar to the remains?" Lily suggests

Adam nods. "Like lemonade."

Brenda laughs "Well maybe it would have helped"

"Something about a spoonful of sugar."

"Helps the medicine go down" His mother sings, and.. it's lovely. Poetry is her jam, but her singing has also improved
