"Well, there are rumors he's.. unseelie" A whisper from the male boggan

"That matters not. Good freehold, do show these suppliants the pathway to haven - please."

A wall shifts... and Zara realizes, this is not illusion, the freehold actually shifts FORM. As a door manifests.

Well, not so much manifests, as becomes.

Oh, but her ire is already risen. Sluagh propriety, sluagh manners...

"Well, that must be it," The trolless says "Let me go through first in case it's dan.. oh sorry, Kith brother unless you would like to?"

"No after you" He says.

She nods and goes through.

The boggan humphs and looks at Zara. The thought is easy to read trolls. What can you do?

A nod. And Earl will insist on going last, so.... what can you do? She steps.

They enter into an actual room a relief from the labyrinth that no doubt shifts now and then to play with people.

Zara holds back, taking a moment to survey the room - and yes, sense what spells or hidden things she may.

A parlor of sorts, but larger tahn anything she's seen, a whole table of fine foods and many drinks, with a smaller table that has the mark often used to reprsent the sluagh kith with spoiled goods a bit away. Behind an ornate glass window in the wall, one can see the Balefire, but not what is beyond it. It's glamour flows here. And many fine chairs allow one to sit.

"A parlor. A place to wait."

And there are books. One can tell a lot by a man by the types of books he offers a guest. Mysteries? Almost too on the nose for an Eiluned.

Her fingers work, and she wraps a fuddle about her like a gossamer veil - one to bend and deflect seeking soothsays.

They see what they would expect - a simple sluagh, cobwebs and books and tea...

"Forgive me. I don't believe we gave our names" The boggan says

"We did not." She agrees.

"My name is Jerrick, and this is Bri" The boggan says

She places a hand on her heart and bows. "A pleasure. What brought you to Poughkeepsie?"

"Oh we heard about a satyr here selling or renting property for Changelings with a kithain discount" He smiles "So we were thinking of moving here. But wanted to pay our respects to the nobles"

"Ah, that is a true rumor. I know some of his tenants."

"Well-kept properties, and he.. well, there is much to be said for a landlord who understands."

"Well kept?" Bri... probably short for something like Brihindengalde or some such looks hopeful "Are the.. is there head room?" Almost embarrassed to make a fuss of it

Zara pats Earl's arm and smiles. "Enough. Mayhaps not every apartment, but enough if it is needed. I am not one to give praise casually, but I believe you should pursue this, aye."

The boggan looks at the troll, and Zara need not be a boggan to see that somehow the odd couple have hit it off. and he gives a pleased smile.

"Don't be smug" Bri says to him, but there is neither heat nor chill to it, rather warmth, then a nod to Zara "This is good to know"

"I think he seeks properties where he himself has generous horn clearance... I believe some measure of the work he does himself?"

"or he tries to hire kithain and kinain to do it" Earl says

"Begging your pardon, but ..ah, I don't believe the two of you gave your name?" Jerrick says

"Indeed?" In a "how interesting" tone.

"Indeed" Bri says brows knitting.

"Hopefully you shall be able to settle in before leaf season - it is magnificent this far upstate."

"Oh we've heard" Jerrick beams

"My love, he shall paint his fingers off..." She slides an arm through the crook of Earl's elbow.

Zara watches the balefire through the glass, thoughts racing behind her ink-black eyes.

There is something else about this place, beyond the shifting tunnels and passages. Something she can't place...

Forgettable she thinks. She has seen fancier, more elaborate holds. Grander places. She has been in the hold of the high king. This place seems to be relatively forgettable compared to that.

And her spin stiffens. Her eyes widen. She has.. this whole hold, has been nicknamed!

Indeed, Earl and the other two are talking about the trees changing color, and art...

Her eyes narrow again. She tastes the magic, grows familiar with it...

Zara paces, stalking like a restless cat.

And the door opens on her third pace.

She draws herself up.

The young man looks like he could blend into a sophomore class himself, well, as much as any sidhe can blend. His garments seem to favor black and white instead of Silver but he wears it well and offsets. His eyes dance and it is not the color she notices so much as an almost ravenous intelligence in them. "Do forgive my tardiness, good guests. I am Baron Doiléir Rathmist ap Eiluned, lord of the High Reeds Barony. I hope the food has been half so pleasant as no doubt each other's company was?"

Zara drifts to Earl's side, keenly watching the Baron.

The Boggan and Troll introduce themselves, and mention their reasons for bieng, and how they plan to follow the Escheat.

Well, of course they WILL but perhaps they're nervous.
