"She'd notice it regardless," The Seer says as if that is obvious.

"She has given us a mandate, nu? She will grant us leave."

Rosco chuckles "Has she? I suppose but she might be curious to the details. What will you tell her then?"

"That we are calling a soul, of course."

"The truth is a gem of many facets."

In the corner, Meila faces a problem. A childling troll boy has not spotted her, but he has put a foot down on one of her many wraps, accidentally trapping her. Lily contemplates deserting her kith sister, but they ARE sluagh, and looks for a solution to this possibly embarrassing chance of being noticed.

"An Eiluned proverb," Almandine reminds everyone as he often does when Zara uses it.

A soft chuff. "No learning is ever wasted. Liam."

"Without love, there is no fear. Without fear, there is no courage. Fiona."

"That's a good one," Bachdion approves.

"Perfection is a process." A smile at Rosco.

"The woman's like a magpie, plucking up what she will from what source she wishes, isn't she?" Rosco observes but is amused.

"Sign of a good student," Bachdion raises a glass to Zara.

"I am a librarian, am I not?"

In the corner a troll boy yelps as a spider is on his face! Lily has asked of number four so she and Meila could go on unnoticed and the boy still be forced to move his foot.

Four enjoys a good prank!

"Definitely, I..." Bachdion turns to the yelp "What ARE the stablehands getting into now?"

"Don't hurt it, " Eugenia says. Boggans do not love spiders as a rule, but any stable hand knows that a spider in the stall means less horse flies!

Dame Claire looks at the scene and searches the area. For Meila and Lily, it must be like trying to evade the eye of Sauron. Does Lily see herself as noble but tormented smeagal who is wrongfully tethered by stupid fat hobbits? or may haps she identifies more Frodo, who must bear the burden not of the ring, but a less talented kith sister. Sigh either way, sigh.

It is Hard to be Lily.

They evade Claire's eye for now by diverting under the main dining table. A world of ankles and shanks is not uncommon for sluagh childlings.

"I wonder what that was about?" Says Bachdion.

"Childlings got to childling," Rosco shrugs, "Now, let us go on plotting."
