Lady Jebel's answer was a bit..calculating, and took too long. As if she just now thought of it

August steps forward. "Lady? How do you -know- it was Earl?"

"As I said... wheaten badges are not worn by any other" She sniffs

Meanwhile... Vince has vanishes into the crowd.

An Eshu in the back (Tizzy) "She knows TROLL heraldry?"

"But they could be."

Indeed, that gets some curious mutters. Oh, some know trolls have a crude viking like heraldry; hilltops, drizzles, and campfires right? But beyond that.

"Think you mine love is the only wheaten knight? And I thought that Eiluned were masters of lore..."

"Earl has not broken his Oath, clearly. And any might wear a piece of heraldry, especially if thier intent was to decieve. Perhaps you -have- been taken advantage of, Lady, although not in the way you thought originally."

Vince returns with Magnus

Earl growls "What of the insults given to MY lady?" a low whisper

"Cough, cough." He coughs, politely!

Seeing Magnus, the lady changes her tune "yes, a mistake. Ah well, then I suppose we go on... " She looks to Ashtok "Come, my lord. Let us be off"

"Hello Magnus." August nods.

Vince deftly slides his bulk in the way of their escape.

"Oh, beg pardon."

"Sir Earl" Magnus says "Miss Zara. May I have your permision to .. help?"

"Well, I am certain the Lady shall apologize - words spoken, perhaps, in passion resulting from a mistake."

"Oh mutual apologies all around" She says breezily even as she glares a bit at Vince.

Ashtok's eyes narrow at Vince "move, peasant, or be moved"

"Move? But there is not even any music. How can my groove thing groove without the smoothest of tunes?"

"Lion against Lion?" August murmurs, softly scandalized... but loud enough to be heard.

Some chuckles at August's comments

Ashtok flushes, but then stamps his foot, "Out out, damned spot" At vince

and glamour flows

August steps between Vince and Ashtok.

And the dictum slams into August and does...

nothing!

For a knight cannot best a Baron

"Poor form that" Someone in the crowd says, speaking of the dictum on the pooka

Earl says "I want an apology to my lady..."

he says it more clearly, loudly.

"A proper one" He finishes

August just levels a grey gaze at the knight. "I would like an apology to our library as well, please." but his tone is icy.

"Must I order it?"

Realization sinks in. Dictum could be on the other foot

"And me!" Vince says, petulantly, wringing his tail. "He hast insulted, in turn, the Baroness's Pants, the Baron's own train, and myself, rabble? RABBLE?! Oh, why focus on the insults to a 'bony plain thing that plays at silken sheets?"

As, perhaps, the Baron August might have missed a few of the choicest words.

His gaze goes from icy grey to thundercloud dark.

Zara has been playing cool, but she bristles.
