Is the wand of stone tainted by the Witch or merely a weapon?

And, how did this affect mortals... for while it occurred in the Deep Dreaming, as a Liam scholar, August knows that mortal man is caught in it's distant eddy

His side notes and questions are prolific, and shaping up to become a report to the House in and of themselves.

Indeed, this may take a bit of research and followup in more than one area,

August stifels a yawn and continues writing.

(Well, he -was awakened by the hub bub...)

Early early morning, he's up now...

and he gets company, Squire Velvet slips in? "Baron? There's a rather loud party in Jack's, they say you are invited. It's a bit noisy for me"

And she notes he's writing "Ah, do I need to aid?"

"I wouldn't turn down tea. Or even coffee." he doesn't usually leave his chambers in PJs, robe, and sword belt but here he is.....

"Feel free to stay if you like. Fascinating information here...."

"I admit curiosity, I shall get your tea promptly. The Caffeinated sort I think"

"Yes please."

She bobs her head and moves off, prompt

August bends back to his copywork.

And soon, two teas are brought in, one for the baron, one for the squire herself

August sits back, wiping his eyes and giving himself a very fetching 'smokey eye' with ink as he does. He doesn't notice. "That looks wonderful, Squire. Thank you."

"Happy to serve, Baron. I admit, I am curious."

"Mmm." he samples the tea, and indicates she can examine the drying pages he's copied so far.

She looks over "Ah, Sir Magnus' journal"

"Yes." he sips as he cradles the cup in his hands "Notes from the effort at Silverwolf, and on the way to it."

"I confess, the crowd was too noisy for my liking, but they do seem enthused, it seems with good reason. Perhaps Selena shall stop fussing"

"Selena?"

"the piskie maid"

"Ah! Yes, of course. She was in some upset, was she not?"

"Distressed. I fear this Fiona energy gets to the best of us"

"Of course, Tylar and I are far more... mature in our own romance"

August clears his throat. "Yes. Of course."

"with Imbolc tomorrow, and our own bale ready, I have a request? "

"Of course." He sets the cup down "What is it?"

"I was thinking, for formal imbolc, would it be possible to have a sectioning for slaugh with sound buffers? extra thick curtains? or in lieue of that, ear muffs offered ffor all?"

"I will certainly ask Coradel. With as many sluagh guests as we may have, it would make sense."

"thank you, Baron." she says gratefully

"You are most welcome, Squire." fondly.

"I confess, it has been nice having more sluagh about. I shall miss some when they depart afterr imbolc"

"Have you made some especial friends? I'm sure they would be welcome to stay."

"Oh forgive me lord, I wouldn't presume to say I could offer that. though Emma and the little girl are quite tight"

"I haven't had the pleasure of meeting her yet. She sounds charming."

"Well, Isephemia Pernicious is highly traumatized by her ordeal but slowly healing"

"That is good to hear." sincerely.

"Lily dropped by to give her a stuffed animal... sweet girl herself. And Emma seems to sooth her. I am surprised. Furry things are not always appealing to sluagh. We are more spiders and snakes than puppies, thouh some spiders are furry"

"Don't let Lily know she is sweet; she's working very hard on her best sluagh ways."

"Oh, you are right, of course. I must tell her she is sublimely terrifying. Little girl sluagh love that"

His smile is wistful. "I bet they do."

"I know I did" A fond smile "the simple pleasues of a childling"

"You are very much a young woman, now." he assures her.

"it is true. I fear things are far more complex as a wilder"

A chuckle from the older wilder. "They are." he agrees.

He picks up his cup, sips, and sets it down to continue copying.
