She pauses. "What does Rachel look like, August? In her hospital bed...what does she look like?"

He thinks a moment, and responds.

Not like Coradel... Like Brown hair, blue eyes... she should be more attractive but atrophy hurt her.. so she is pretty/frail

Coradel listens, then frowns. "I thought maybe she would look like me. Interesting. Regardless...Weatherly was not shocked. Perhaps she won't be, either? And if she's kith, or kin, she might need to see us."

"Weatherly was taken aback; he had no expectation anyone would want to see Rachel, even a 'cousin.'"

"August...regardless...the pact," she says, pointing back to where the left the seer. "I will risk giving her a shock if we will save her daughter in the process."

"Instead of the mother, why don't I ask Lord Hume for a way to contact Weatherly? We could meet for coffee, the three of us."

She frowns. Then says, "Let's do this instead....you meet Weatherly again. And I will meet with the mother. I'm not likely to shock her on my own."

A wan smile. "Coradel, you underestimate yourself."

She smiles. "You know what I mean. I don't look like her offspring. And..." she pauses and blinks. "Oh." Then another smile. "I'm sure it will be fine!"

"What?" guarded.

"I can manage it, August!" she assures him. "Go get Weatherly's information from Hume."

"Coradel....."

"I am going to speak to his mother. I am going to find out more, and possibly enlist her in our action, if she seems ready to hear. I will bring dross, and if she is a fae forgotten, I will revive her."

"In St. Louis?!?!"

"Sure, I'll drive! August, if she is fae, and forgotten, the Duke and Duchess will be GLAD that we have rescued her!"

"If she is not fae, and I do her no harm, then I am not violating demesne to interact with a mortal, surely!"

Her Eeyore of a husband covers his face with a hand for a moment.

"Have a good cover story prepared."

"I have one built in. Her daughter is an old friend of my mortal host, and my host's mother asked me to check on her." She snaps her fingers. "Easy."

He peeks up. "And.... if things go wrong, or if they have suspicions about who she was with that night.... ??"

"I will Figure It Out. Honestly, August, if we always waited until we had every contingency covered, we'd never get anything done."

"Besides...I can just tell them it was Chelsea."

"Please? Come with me to meet Weatherly? Start there?" he asks.

An exasperated sigh. "It will slow us down. But so is this arguing. Fine. Let me advise Innish, and ...oh, I suppose that puts Hume in charge for another day. I'll make sure Whiskers knows to babysit him."

A quick kiss, and Coradel whisks away to advise those who need advising.

August takes a deep breath of near-relief, and goes to gather a few things. Including bail money and the phone numbers of a few lawyers in St. Louis.

Powered by the glamour of plot, matters are soon settled at the hold and August and Coradel find themselves about to meet Weatherly

And even though she offered, she allows August to drive.

He gets all tense otherwise.

August notes this and drives five miles over the speed limit almost the whole way.

He gets rewarded with her best smile. And she puts on music he likes best.

And then they are meeting Weatherly.

For coffee, at the same shop near the hospital.

Coradel keeps an eye out for even little hints of glamour.

Weatherly meets them.. and tries, very gallantly, not to gape at the smoking hot red head

"Weatherly, thank you for meeting us." August offers his hand. "My wife, C...." he stops and clears his throat with a small choke.

"Catherine." he recovers.

Coradel wrinkles her nose adorably at August and squeezes his arm, then reaches a hand to Weatherly. "Lovely to meet you!"

"You look kind of familiar, pardon" he takes the hand "Charming"

There's a flash of dread on August's face.

And it's gone.

She kens and finds that he is idealistic, a dreamer maybe? But no kithian...

"I get that a lot." She flips her hair. "I've done some magazines, maybe you've seen me there?"

She's disappointed at the kenning, but...well, she wasn't really expecting it.

Weatherly looks at a loss for what to say for a sec because the magazines that come to min she could pose for one does not mention in front of a husband "Hey, let me buy you guys some coffees, or you prefer tea?"

"You bought last time. My suggestion, my treat. Same as before?" August asks.

"Sure, thanks" He nods

'Catherine' smiles at her husband. "You know what I like, order for me?"
