"I am still new to the title; it was not one I ever sought." quietly "I value your respect."

"Heck, August, the fact you never sought it makes me respect you MORE" She says "Heck, I respect Coradel too but I don't want her to get that pretty red head swelled. Oh, how's Sparrow? I'm told she's got her own set up all cozy now?"

A soft smile. "Yes. She is well, last I had word. We're very proud of her."

"Seems to be a lot of good in the family. Maybe I'll visit her, " She smiles "I best be off before the Lion gets his confidence up again"

"There is a flaw in your assumption he ever lost his confidence in the first place." August warns with quiet humor. "Safe travels."

She actually chuffs with good humor at that seeing his point and she's gone

August goes back to his desk and regards the two boxes.

He picks them up and goes in search of Alanza.

Alanza is helping the hounds. She looks verry depressed

"Miss Alanza." August announces himself quietly.

"Baron?" She turns and bows

"Please." he gestures her to be easy.

"May I ask some questions about the chimera you faced in the ice cave?"

"Yes, lord. It was an.. it was a truly odd and evil creature"

"What was its appearance? Its age?"

"It looked like a Yeti or wendigo of lore, white and gray hair everywhere. Unlike those typical legends though, it was trying to appear and sound civiliized. Very urbane, very 'proper'? Rationalizing it's plans . If I went by voice alone I'd say middle aged college professor?"

A slow nod. "Interesting."

"From a child's perspective.... hm."

"Thank you."

"I'm a wilder, Baronn" A touch confused

"No, the children it had trapped. From their perspective, middle aged, college, and professor would all seem.... old. Ancient."

"I suppose it would" She says "Come to think of it, he even strokes his chin, which was at least as hairy as any long beard"

"Ah. Yes, very interesting. Hm."August smiles.

"I hope you are well?" he asks, switching gears gracefully.

"Ah.. no. " She says

His forehead furrows with concern. "Can I be of assistance?"

"Probably not, Baron. I'm.. I maybe taking a walk about as the Aussies say"

"And... that is cause for being unwell?"

"No, but it might be the curee" She says

"Ah. Well. It is good you -have- a cure." August agrees supportively.

"I hope so anyway" Weak smile "Thanks though"

"You're welcome. I hope you'll say, if there's something you need or if there's a way we can assist you." he pauses "I understand the spirit may move you without warning but.... do you know when you might be leaving?"

"Probably in the next few days. I warned Sir Sergei"

He nods. "Would you be free on an evening before then?"

"Is.. there something you need, Baron? Some task?"

"No. No." very nonchallantly "I ... just wondered."

"I'm at your disposal, obviously Baron, but I'm not in a great place right now and am not feeling social"

He nods, pursing his lips. "Then.... I was given something to give to you. I thought perhaps a public presentation might do it the best justice but.... I understand what it is like to be.... troubled, and desire quiet seclusion. Would you like to have this item now?"

"For me? Yes, please" She says

"I would honor you publicly for your efforts, but not at the cost of your peace."

"Private is fine" She looks around "Justt you and me and the dogs now"

August nods. "This is from Chief Clem, and the DeBukes, in thanks for your rescue of the children from the yeti in the ice cave." he offers her the box.

"oh" She takes it but looks sad "nice of them." She doesn't open it

"Is.... is it unwelcome? I can respectfully decline it if you wish, I have written such notes before."

"No no. I'll open it later"

August exhales. "I feel I have somehow made things worse, Ms. Alanza; if so, I apologize."

"Oh no, Baron I'm just... not feelingg very social now. I feel... like my feet have failed me"

"That must be disconcerting for an eshu." he agrees.

"Yes, well, maybe travel will help"

An encouraging smile. "It might not work for every kith, but I understand it is a tonic for the eshu."
