Adam gets home from school and gladly dumps his stuff in his room.

He has since learned he's missing 30 dollars

Samhain. he credits grumpily. His wallet is.... pretty empty. No time to work. And he doesn't want to take his allowance.

There's a knock on his door.

"Come in!" He calls, sifting through the -stuff- in his room to see if something could be found.....

A dollar bill and two quarters, 3 dimes

The door opens behind him

He pockets the pocket change and turns to look.

"Why didn't you tell me you needed money?" His father says. Kyle looks down at his son.

"I don't. What are you doing here?"

"You are my son, last I checked." He reminds "You don't visit Rivervale so I thought I'd visit you"

"Thanks. Gotta go." He starts towards the door which yes, Kyle is standing in.

"Hey, what's with the brush off?" His father frowns

"Nothing to say."

"So I'm a stranger now?" A brow "Son, I already checked your schedule. You've got over an hour before you have any duties here. Talk to me. "

"No, sir, thank you."

"Well, I'm not moving out of this door way until we talk. And as I am bigger than you, I think moving me might be hard." His father says

"Yes, sir." Adam goes to the bed and sits. That stubborn look.

"So that's how it's going to be" He says "Son, I love you, but you can be very cruel to people"

"Yes, sir."

"My apologies. I am trying to do better."

"No you're not, you're just getting better at passive resistance . Adam, talk to me. Why are you driving your family away?"

"I don't know, sir."

"Fine." He reaches into his phone and dials

Well, texts.

Adam sits.

Magnus comes up "Here I am. Problem?"

"Yes. " And he relates his son's behavior and more.. Kyle says "I was wondering if you could dictum him to answer all questions from me honestly for the next hour?"

"Honestly, and forthcoming" Kyle corrects

Adam glowers but says nothing.

Magnus looks over the boy, then looks to Kyle "I could do that, Mister Thomas. I might still, but could I have a few moments with the boy?"

"Suit yourself." Kyle says "He hasn't respected us since he first got enchanted. I'll be back in ten."

And he goes. Magnus is now the one at the door

"Adam, you okay?" Magnus asks

"I don't want to talk to him."

Magnus ponders... then gestures "Rewind stitch in time.. save some talking.."

And magic flows around Adam. For a moment, Magnus eyes flutter

Adam stands, backing away.

Then he says "Okay. Caught up. Don't worry, that wasn't a dictum."

The boy waits like a prisoner in the dock.

"All I did was check backwards. I wanted to see if your father abused you"

"Pretty invasive, Sir." calmly.

"I'm a private detective, invasive is my middle name. Now, why don't you want to talk to your father?"

"Do you talk to yours?"

"I do in fact talk to both, now, answer the question"

"He let my mom go."

"yes" A nod "he must love her very much."

"Yeah. I guess."

"Adam, do you enjoy having the door blocked?"

"Definitely not."
