With less than a week before Samhain, August fears more and more folks are crumbling to the Unseelie.

Even sweet Tylar has been a bit less dutiful of late.

Even the easygoing Vince has moved from 'Prance' to more of a 'Prowl'.

August uses prayer and meditation to keep himself balanced this far into the season. He also isolates himself slightly more, but he cannot completely hermit.

If Minerva wasn't already unseelie, one doesn't notice a change there. She has slowly opened up to some others a bit more, but remains in a state of silent endurance for some of the more Fiona things. She does like petting Whiskers when he visits

August has asked gently after how the 'reunion' with Lesley went.

And Minerva says "Awkwardly. I find she brings up sensations I did not invite, do not want. She told me to wash the dishes, and I actually started to without telling her that I am not her servant. IS there someway to rid myself of these lingering affections and habits?"

August considers the question soberly. "If there is, I have never sought it. I value my mortal connections in this world."

"Baron, you are kind to offer your input but, I do not think i shall ever understand Liam. Begging your pardon if I insult. Why your house puts mortals on such a high pedestal when they're clearly inferior , I cannot grasp. "

A gentle smile. "No offense taken. To respond, in a nutshell... without mortals, we cease to be. They Dream us to power."

"I have a friend who would enjoy pointing out the irony of it."

She wrinkles her nose "I refuse to believe the dreaming is so badly designed that our bane is our source. They're so banal. Mother's not too bad but still.. most are as cold as a wet Christmas"

August nods. "Many of us abandoned them in the Shattering; it is a shame on our souls, and a grave we have dug for ourselves."

"The Eiluned tell a different take at least on the importance of mortals" She says

He nods again. "I am aware."

"odd that the two most Lore wise Houses should disagree on so much" She does give Liam credit for its fine records

"Ah. Militant members in each House can come to blows over the meaning and differences between Wisdom, and Secrets." diplomatically.

"Oh yes, I suppose, but that's a bit silly of both I think. Who has the time for that kind of petty fight?" A bit of humor "Best to nod to the other and secretly trust in your own House's superiority"

"Or wisely trust, as the case may be." he agrees in what seems to be a rare show of humor for the so-serious Baron.

A twitch of a smile "Well, perhaps I speak too soon. It maybe Eiluned is not my house, but I am told it seems the most likely and I share many interests"

"Time and the Namer will tell." He reassures her. "Baroness Derynwydd seemed a perfect match for Fiona.... and she Sained Liam."

She politely does not shudder at such a fate, "Well, I hope I get Eiluned, Or Ailil though the latter I am told plays a bit harder with its own than I like. There must be some reason Icame in silver and black"

"The Dreaming has been known to mark Housemembers so from their beginning."

"You and the Seer have discussed Samhain?"

"Yes. I find out fascinating. I WANT to practice omens and such, but apparently the seer thinks I shouldn't do it on my own when the veil is so thin. I think ths' the PERFECT time"

"It is, however, without the protection of a True Name, you must be careful of Da'an and meddling therein." gently.

"That's what Sir Almandine said" A delicate sniff of distaste.

His smile is kind. "He was right."

"An annoying habbit" She admits

"And yes, he has"

"For what it is worth, both the Seer and The Librarian are powerful workers with Da'an. You might observe them if they allow."

"Yes, Miss Zara's mastery was a.. surprise" She admits "But she really is amazing"

"She is." softly.

"I would not desparage my mentor for all the world but I think if she wanted his position" a shrug "She'd have it"

"I believe she is happy in her role here, and the high esteem we have for her."

"I hope she is. And if not, that she will tell me."

"She is an old frieend?"

"A dear friend, yes."

"was she always so powerful? "

"I hope we have all grown in power and wisdom through the years."

"Of course, it would take study" She nods

"It does."

"So... lord, what magics have you focused on if I may ask?"

"Ah. My magical studies have not been a strong point, I fear. I have some Wayfare, some Primal, and some Sovereign."

"A handy mix"

"In the hands of a more skillful practitioner, perhaps."

"I supose,Baron but more than this fledge can do"
