"Ah." He pinks.

"Why is the ones we love act surprised when we tend to them when they need tending?" Siv asks Coradel "is Fiona the only house with any sense?"

"Well, I doubt August would agree with my opinion about that question," Coradel says. "But we do seem to get done what needs doing."

"Oh yes, pardon, Baron August. " A blush "But it does seem the Lions are the only ones who don't act all embarrassed about it"

He clears his throat. "Loved ones can be tended in different ways."

"Mmmm...." Coradel leans her chin on her palm and smiles at him. "Do elaborate."

He looks at her puzzled. "Pardon?"

"Should I take notes?" Siv says looking for a pad

All innocence. "What are the different ways loved ones can be tended?" She doesn't look like she's really trying to tease him, though...just that she'd like to hear how he expands on the subject.

Siv doesn't appear to be mocking either

"Ah.... well... I haven't ... really organized my thoughts on it. But it seems to be that, depending on the nature of the love and the type of relationship...."

"Tending a loved one can be as simple as telling them how you feel... or listening to how they feel. It's knowing how they need to be supported, and being willing to do that."

"Yes?" She coaxes.

"The details of how one does that are so .... variable."

Then her smile warms as he continues, a tender expression in her eyes.

"I hope the tending also includes being true to ones own nature while supporting the loved one?"

He nods. "It does, Coradel." A gentle look in his own eyes.

Siv smiles "Love languages. Been studying those"

"Then I also trust you'll excuse me for slipping you a bit of glamour unannounced when I felt you needed it. In tea," she points out.

Then a smile to Siv. "And how are those studies going, Captain?"

"I didn't -need- it." He points out. "But yes. And thank you."

"Swimmingly," Siv says without boasting, "I'll never be a boggan in seeing all the lines, but learning how folks express their love seems to tell a lot about them."

Coradel rests a hand on August's arm as she listens to Siv. "Some of us are rather obvious, certainly...but have you notice any surprising expressions of love, ones that you hadn't seen at first glance?"

"Well, surprising? " She ponders "Thane Rollo, when he likes people, often grouses near them even as he does things for them they didn't ask them to do. Not about what he's doing, but how boneheaded the person or others are. You ever notice? He'll grab heavy loads from them and put it way while griping about the weather. It's like he hopes the words will stiffle what his actions are shouting"

August nods as if this makes sense to him.

"Oh, yes. It's rather adorable of him, isn't it?"

"Aye, but I admit, I do not think he might get ah, feisty, if someone were to point it out and tell him it's adorable"

Coradel sips her tea and mildly looks in the direction of where she might expect Thane Rollo to be just now.

"Such an action would not speak love to him." August agrees.

Ah, Thane Rollo is likely on guard near the stables today

"Mm," she makes an accommodating sound as August points that out.

"No, it wouldn't be a kindness, I suppose."

"Any others, Captain?"

"Aye, and that's the hard part... because we value different expressions of love, we sometimes do not appreciate what others are doing for us. Oh.. others?" She ponders "Others that are surprising? mmm. Normally we like it when others express things in the way we express it, but Dame Claire seems to make a game of acting as if Magnus' flirtations a re just fippery, but it always puts her in a better mood and if he neglects the verbal praise and flirty banter she gets worried."

"Oh, now that's interesting. I hadn't caught on to that. I hope Magnus has figured it out, even if only instinctually."

August looks vaguely worried.

"oh" Siv ssays "I'm sorry, didn't mean to worry you.. i think he knows, for he does it a great deal..."

August clears his throat. "I'm sure he does."

Coradel catches August's expression, and she gives his arm a gentle squeeze. "They've been doing fine lately, my love, as far as I've seen."

"Oh, I shouldn't have used family as an example" She says "They are as far as i know fine....well, besides Magnus getting shot of course"

Eyes wide. "Shot?! Recently?"

August leans forward. "What?"

"When?"

"You didn't know?" Siv blinks

"We know his line of work." Grimly. "When did this happen?"

"Today. Emma patched him up and Claire about threatened to kick his ass if he left the infirmary. He's still rather tender. "

And Coradel is on her feet and striding towards the infirmary without another word.

"Excuse us, Captain......" August rises and follows.

Siv starts to do the clean up "Of course, of course"

As Siv starts to clean up. A boggan taps her foot and stares at her.
