Delores comes up to talk to August

He is in the practice yard, working on his form.

"Baron, you seem to be improving your sword play a great deal lately. Is this a bad time?"

"No." He pauses and wipes his forehead. "I had a few moments so I thought I would take advantage."

Curiosity is winding around the boggan's ankles, threatening either to trip the steward or risking a stomp...

"Thank you. It's about your scribe duties"

"Yes? Did I miss something?"

"We'll, you're a bannerhouse lord, and a baron on top of it. I was wondering if you thought you might be too busy for your scribe duties? Not as an insult- I'm trying to be practical. Have you considered an apprentice or assistant?"

"Ah. Tylar has been of assistance on occasion. He has a fair hand. I'm not sure if he has a real passion for it but...."

" I was wondering." She says "Would you like me to see if I can find you someone to work under you, not as a squire but as help?"

"Ah..... who did you have in mind?"

"oh, no one in particular just yet, two or three options"

"I suppose you'd like to speak with them first."

"Probably for the best but I didn't want to overstep with you"

Bat..bat...bat at apron strings.

"Shoo"

"Curiosity." He smiles, crouches, makes 'psst psst psst....' Then slow stops and stand. "My apologies, Stewart." He looks directly at her. "If you feel that's the best route, then please do so."

One last bat before she trots over to August to sniff.

"Well, I'll keep you posted on who I think might be a good one and you decide, of course. " Delores says

"Thank you." Watching her respectfully.

She bows "Thank you, Baron. Oh, speaking of other matters... do you have anything you needd supplies wise from the hold for your scriptorium/study or whatever?"

"Actually, yes, after Yule. I'll get you a list, I have one started."

"Excellent, and thank you" A brow at the cat "You seem to have a new admirer"

August doesn't allow himself to look. "She's very dear."

"mmph. Well, she is adorable but underfoot... Still, be careful to warn Dame Temerity about going around in mouse form"

"I will. Although I think I should also warn Curiousity about Dame Temerity."

"Good point" the Steward smiles a bit "Well then I'm off. Be well, Baron"

"And you, Stewart." And only after she's gone does August drop to greet the kitten again.

Emma lays helpless, as the cat cuddles her, using her like a huggy toy...

the possum had thought it safe to wander the gardens in critter form

then ..that cat sprang!

And Emma? She had played dead.

No claws..

no devouring

but a sniff.. a light poke

and then... well, Curiosity has decided she's a cuddle friend

Welll... this is her life now.

Maybe a little sniff back.

Puurrr...drag

Yup. She's been dragged like a carcas/ toy

Siiiiigh.

"Gadzooks, what is this? Yon Dragon has trapped fair damsel!" a Voice breaks through

"To arms, to war! To wrath! A red day! Bold Crimson too, not that cherry harlot"

Temerity, Dame of the bannerhouse and knight, comes into view!

Emma waves a paw.

Curiousity looks up, ready to defend her meal/friend/I haven't decided yet

And there's a SPRITZ sound...

as Temerity unleashes that most fearsome of weapons! The water pistol!

The squirt gun is an enemy that Curiosity has never faced!
