"Oh.. so... where do we start?"

"Collections." She points at a wheelbarrow.

He sighs, satyr nods and ... he starts to work "I've been working by the rail road..." Clovis sings

Oswald says "And no funny stuff, bucko. I'm watching you" He points at his own eyes then to the satyr

Emma directs - better to trust her gestures than her words - to gather up a collection of medicinal plants. While she is no longer the gardener-in-charge, she certainly has kept a hand in, especially here where the herbs grow.

Clovis is a knowledgeable amateur, and takes physical cues well. Oswald checks in.. a lot, distrustful of the thief ... for some reason.

"Soooo, Clovis, have you ever made white lightning?"

"Is a frog's ass water tight?" he says

She laughs. "Wunderbar!"

"You wouldn't be able to put together a bit of a still in the garden shed, would you?"

"I might - no promises- I might have a lovely copper pot and some big glass growlers..."

"Well, with the right gear sure." CLovis says

Oswald says "Want me to ask Dame Honoria for spare material?"

Emma nods.

Oswald nods, then "Let me know if Lando here tries to contact the Empire"

"Oh, Lando came around..."

"After everything went south" A mutter but a nod from her very old friend and he goes off to get the gear

She makes Clovis haul the herbs back to the shed. "Okay, so - these?" She holds up a purple flower with vibrant orange roots. "MIGHT need to be washed, and peeled, and pounded into baby food. At least minced."

Clovis nods and takes instruction, yes, there are miscommunications, but that happens and he catches up quick.

It seems medicine is a surprisingly labor intensive task - after the tumeric is the ginger... peppermint... and yes, some of the fine kentucky blue.

Oswald returns with piping, pots and more.

And Clovis wipes his brow now and then, but that satyr stamina serves him well for something beyond 'smoldering'

"My anti-hero!"

Oswald smiles a bit his friend "Dame Honoria says if we need more, let her know. "

To be fair, Emma is not one to stand idle - but Clovis is definitely getting the dirtier and more tedious share of tasks.

Well, Emma IS the Brains of this operation. So that makes sense.

"Now, let's say, IF we were to make a mash, and IF we were to boil it, and IF we were to do so in a copper pot with some tubes, wht might you think will happen?"

"Magic" Clovis says

"Long as it doesn't blow up, the Baroness frowns on that" The Thane remarks

"Oooo..."

Now still making, Clovis knows, and knows well!

So a variation? not that hard

Indeed... no plan here for fermentation, but rather to actually distill the herbs into something pure and drinkable.

Clovis might normally consider the lack of fermentation a sin, but now..

well, anything to help Donnie. The Satyr works harder the more it is clear this is for the boy.

In the end, it takes a few days - shifts of watching the still, processing enough raw material mash...

Well, by THEN Clovis will have showered the mud off 😉

And over time, the elixir of life.. well elixir of 'does not suck so much' is crafted

"thanks for this" Clovis says "I owe you" Despite his having worked, he means it.

"ASK." A pause, then more gently. "Oui?"

"yes," He says, and kisses her hand "I may ask a lot , later." He winks, and slips out.

With the prize to offer the lad.

A certain troll thane says "Come on, Champ... let me buy a drink at Jack's. And he guides Emma for a well deserved soda of her choice.
