The pale hand of the winter goddess is veined ice blue but they squeeze. It's almost uncomfortably cold for a moment, but not in a banal way. No, indeed, for a moment, Thistle feels ideas come in to her head. Greater understanding of Winter and ice and snow and her muse is... but the shake is over

Blink... blink.

"I told ye I'd help you find your friend, and a bargain is a bargain wit we celtic types." the winter lessens about them, easing her path "Watch out for the Flying Heads. And, look out for Arawn who seeks to trap her"

"Yep, totally playing damsel. Thanks for the help. Bargain's a bargain!"

"I'll ease the path for ye as well, but you're on your own for the rest... you're a tinker, so keep your eyes open for things you can tinker wit. Off wit ye"

Despite the curt farewell, there's a little less bite to Cailleach's tone than started

She tips a crooked salute and forges on.

Whew, no longer freezing her tuckus off, the brave nocker makes her way by the river, southward... no chunks of ice in the waters or on the shore. She makes good time.

CHIME! Citrine tries to shove the nocker to the side and actually, does a bit...

only for her to be swallowed up by a Giant flying HEAD.

The damned thing flies, making no sound

She grabs a rock to hurl at the head.

It looks like a human head as tall as the tallest of men with long dark hair that whips about, "terrible eyes", and a large mouth filled with razor sharp fangs. Mind you, those terrible eyes really are terrible and as she grabs the rock, Thistle feels a dread rising in her

"Spit her out, y'Zardoz knockoff!"

There's chiming in there... good, this thing hasn't gotten it's fangs on her...

It does not listen to her, so she hurls the rock and it bounces off the head...

this has some good and bad effects. Good? It annoys the Flying Head causing it to open it's mouth to snap at her and Citrine flies out making an 'ewww face'. Bad? It's a flying head trying to BITE Thistle.

She ducks and weaves and runs away!

"Come back here so I can eat you!" the flying head gives chase

"Rather not!" Skidding and scrambling southwards!

To her surprise, the Flying head is not THAT fast, I mean, it flies and that allows it to get over rocks and stuff, but it flies at a running speed and so it's gains aren't instant. "I am hungry. Your arm. Just give up one arm" Slurping sounds. Gross.

Could be a tight chase. worse, she may get tired out

She takes Citrine in hand. "Go, Go, Gadget Feet!" Another quick bunk, a hopscotch to push her forward and increase her lead.

Another hopscotch and a leap and she gets a much needed burst of distance! From 'up here', for just a moment, she sees some options... there's a patch of steaming bursts from a secition of the river? Natural heated geysers? there's also some caves over 'that away'... and , of course, she could try to keep this on the river side shore and hope she stays ahead for long

She could hide in a cave, maybe...

And so she heads towards the caves... huffing and puffing... got to not get tired....
