One is tossed to her, Another girl says "Surprisngly not made of real skull"

"Thanks! Good luck!"

"Yeah, staying alive" The lady laughs

Siv says "Well, it's just a race, isn't it?"

Weapons are handed out...seemingly randomly.

....Eyebrow.

"is that what they told you? " the other one says "Look...they got some of the best healers around, but they'll heal the horses before they heal you. "

"So - what? Hack your way to the finish?"

"Gotta get your horse across or it don't count... laps and laps and ..watch out for the landmines"

Thats when the riff of electric guitars and metal drums beating comes out

"Hunh."

A voice booms "WHO RULES BARTER ISLAND?!"

CHEERS and screams!

"WHO RIDES TO VICTORY?"

More screams, folks in the stands wave foam horsies!

"WELCOME...to the HIPPODROME!"

"Well - Fiona wants fearless!"

"GREAT!" Siv says "Now it's a job interview... no pressure!"

And the gates open, and everyone races forward on their horses! Some grab weapons and try to club competitors back, others block. Many just try to race forward as fast as their horses can take them. In the distance, swinging axes hover in the air.... and some patches of dirt spark with who knows what.

Horns blare, and they're off

"C'mon girl!" Dagmar guides by knee and voice - the better to wield Flyswatter to... well.. swat adversaries out of her path!

Vali reminds, "We don't have to win, we just have to surive and get our horses to the end"

"Living is winning!"

"I like winning!" Siv declares

Dagmar is focused first on protecting Vali, Siv, and the three horses.

Vali says "Don't worry about me... worry about yourself" As if to demonstarate, even as a fireball starts to erupt in front of Dagmar, Vali calls out and sets out frost.. they clash, and for a moment it's a warm fog!

A steel beam on row C is bending.

"Hey, Watch IT!" THUNDERCLAP of warning.

That knocks some folks off!

There are cheeers!

That does - and Flyswatter's hook is good at yanking riders right out of the saddle.

Siv curses, but Dagmar gave her the right horse. Someone throws a bolo back at Siv, only her horse catches it between her teeth and spits out the two separate pieces.

Dagmar unhooks an angry rider ahead of her wearing something that looks like steam punk, if Steampunk had a death metal fetish

Her own horse doesn't have to wash, not while it's going on... and kicks... bites, and tears... later, she'll try to wash the blood off and never feel like she got it, but for now? She's a force

Clysdale in spiked barding try to close in on her, ready to slam to the side.. only to slip and slide themselves as ice forms under them. Vali trying to clear the path.

"Vali, you don't have to protect us because you're scared for us" Siv says as she weaves under whirling blades.

"Are you kidding me? I'm not afraid of you dying. I'm afraid of EXPLAINING to your parents that you died" Vali saays "Oh no, I'm protecting you both this whole way"

One guy leaps from his horse, trying to get on Siv's. That was a mistake. She is an agile one, and moves flat causing him to shoot past her .She does snag his mohawk...which comes right off... and he falls. Siv looks at it, "Oh, it's not hair it's a hat!" She puts it on and keeps riiding

"AAAHHHHYEEEAHHHHH-YA!"

Dagmar... well... she seems to be having a good time. In the Dreaming, it is easier to call thunder - or to BLAST cold shocks ahead...

THe crowd seems to love the thunder more, but the ice is pretty awesome

One nice thing about not being in front, the landmines don't get you as much

a horse explodes into the air... two figures fall... only the horse is caught by a large safety net and carried to healers who heatherbalm it right away

A harrumph - good!!

A Pit opens in front of them... only for an ice ramp to form... allowing the three of them to continue

Siv actually cheers as they get airborne

and they land with thundering hooves. Dagmar sees one guy about three horses up...BEATING his horse "Faster you bitch, I wanna win!"

Siv's eyes widen "Oh boy"

He thrashes it with a short lash as he goes.
