IC: "Gonna throw you in it, Fuzzface." She mutters, glaring around.

The current is trying to yank the raft back into the river, in which case they'll lose it. Do they need it? Up to her, but if she wants to save it she'll have to haul it in further onto solid ground

She does so.

The raft 'safe' for later, Toto barks "Found a path down here, somehow I think even down hill it's going to take a bit and double that up hill, but there's a boulder down there we can get water in the pot fora" and he starts to do down. THe path is narrow for ALexis and Klok, toto has it easy

Alexis heads down carefully; not the first tricky path she's managed. She tries keeping an eye on the grandfather, as well.

Klok nearly stumbles once... does Alexis help granpa or let him hit the rocks?

She helps.

"Thank-Tick you-Tock" and they make it to the bottom, a great boulder with waves splashing around.

"Okay, collect some water in the pot , please" Toto says "And watch out for sharks"

"Fucking sharks better watch out for me." She mutters, and goes to collect the water.

As she does, sure enough, a large fin rises

She sets the pot down ( they'll need it) and crouches, ready to attack.

A shark rises up rows and rows of razor sharp teeth open....

.... as does hers....

.... along with a finely honed sense of ability vs. overwhelming odds. If she feels out-toothed, she retreats. She'll try to save the pot if she can.

"Can I interest you in a loan with reasonable rates?" The Shark says "you can get the supplies you need for whatever quest or long term plans you have.... "

"Fuck off." She growls; one chance. It gets one chance.

"Ah, a fighting lass.... of course, how would yhou like be able to afford a razor sharp chainsaw with gas NOW? All it costs is a limb of your choosing... " THe shark's teeth flicker and gleam..almost hypnotically

Son of... She snaps out of it before it can really grip her! Did she seriously consider cutting off her leg in payment? SHe did!

She leaps, snapping, aiming for the throat or underbelly.

The fight is brutal! Blood spews as a savage predator has it's way.... oh, the shark gets one bite in as well. But in the end, with only a gash on her shoulder and upper left arm, the redcap is triumphant and has Shark for lunch. Alexis had not realized how hungry she had gotten. Well, hungriER. She is a redcap after all. And as she eats, she picks out somethings that were in the shark's belly...

She fishes around in her mouth, finding something that isn't flesh or cartilage, and pulls it out to examine while continuing unselfconsciously to eat; no scrap will be left.

a brass lamp

There was a brass lamp in the thing's belly?

"You gotta be fuckin' kidding me...."

"I know what it LOOKS like, but it can't be that easy. ARen't those things in caves?" Toto says

She snorts and sets it in the pot for a minute while she finishes her meal. Quickly. "Yeah, usually, I guess."

When the shark is gone, she fills the pot with water after fishing the lamp out and carries both up the path again.

UP they go, yes it takes longer, yes it's a pain in the ass with her hands full, and yes, Klok doesn't fall off this time. What seems like hours, they make their way to the clifftop with minimum spillage.

"Kay. Need a fire if we're going to boil this, right?" She wipes her mouth with her hands, and her hands on her beret before slipping it back on.

"I-Tick will fetch-tock wood"

Klok walks off, Toto looks at her wounded shoulder "How's the wound?"

She shrugs again. "Bleeding." With a grin. "Shark-scars could be cool."

"Well, the fin was delicious" Toto burps

"Yeah, you come after my food again, you're gonna BE my food." She pats down her pockets. "Had a Zippo somewhere...."

She finds it. Heck, didn't even get that wet.

She blows on it, big puffs to dry and clear it, then tries it.

Lights up

And just in time wood returns "I -tick used time to-tock speed up the ticktockdrying" Klok sets the wood down. Soon, they have the water boiling

She peers into the hot pot. "So... what happens now?"

KLok touches it, and it boils faster, steam wushes out

and then, salt grains at the bottom! Yay?

"Salt!"

The 'cap ducks back as the steam rises in a WHOOSH, then peers. "Yeah? Ok. So... what, we feed it to her?"

"Sounds like a plan, and if it turns out it didn't work, but she doesn't know she was poisoned, all the better? Can we do stealth?" Toto says
