Alexis just snorts. "Not since I was ... well, ever."

Klok ticks and tocks and follows

"Where does one find salt anyway?" Toto wonders, which means at least he's not singing

"Dunno. Ocean?"

"Oce...let's take a side trip" Toto grins and begins to sing again

Klok follows as you seem to be going far to the side of your destination, but at least his tick tocking speeds things up.

"Side... what the fuck, you.... fuck." She follows the damn dog.

As the terrier croons "stranger in town" they make their way towards a sound of... there's a river. There's two boys rafting, talking "I think we're misplaced a piece, Tom" "Well, gosh darn it, Huck, We Were in my book but you had to take that tributary!" "How could I? I don't even know what a tributary is" "I'll be glad when they give you more smarts in your spin off"

The raft is not so far off from the shore, and toto crouches low, "Ready?"

Alexis, crouched low, nods just slightly, muscles tensing, predatory.

Toto springs onto the raft barking and snarling!

Alexis hits the deck like spinning death.

While the dog startles them, a REDCAP terrifies them! River slang, for who knows what, is sputtered, and the boys jump ship..err raft! Splashing and swimming off. Toto yells after "That's right, go back to your own story! You know the rules! 'Never the Twain shall meet!'" He snorts in canine indignation, then says to Alexis "Grab a pole before it floats off"

She does, and stares at it. "Who were those kids?"

"Sawyer and Finn I think..something like that. Refugees from some lesser littary work I'm sure. Just use the stick to push us to the shore so we can pick up Granpa KLock"

She looks at him blankly, then sticks the stick in the styx and shoves.

And that sends them spinning, fortunately against the shore "RIght right, we'll get the hang of it" Toto says

Klok does get on, "Allow me?" He offers to push

With the pole that is

Another uncaring shrugs and she hands it off. "Ok, now what?"

Making like a metronome, Klok seems to have a natural knack for this.

"We head down river, and towards the sea, when we get sea water, we.. ah.. i"m not sure, but maybe we'll find salt?" Toto's brow goes on

Uncertain, and not thrilled about it, she nods. "Right."

"How do you get salt from the ocean?"

"I... am not sure" Toto says "But there's salt IN ocean water right? Maybe that'l ldo? Maybe we'll find someone who knows how? Don't you have any ideas of your own? I mean, I'm your guide not your chemistry instructor"

"Spray her down with ocean water? I guess.... Fuck, I never took chemistry."

"Tick-Neither... Tock-Did I" Klok says as he moves methodically down river

They see many sights, rampaging hammer heads in the distance, not the shark type, but those thugs spoke of, who have no arms but beat the snot out of each other with massive hammer like noggins

Trees fighting among themselves

Misserable looking folks with ruddy complexions who sigh as their fishing is disturbed.

Alexis watches the fighting a little wistfully, but they stay in the river.

"Yes, it's a stupid place" Toto opines

"Hey," Toto barks to a fisherman, "You know how to get salt out of sea water? Perchance?"

The Quadling looks up "salt? Like in tears? "

"Sure, why not" the dog says

The Quadling shrugs "Why should I tell you?"

Alexis just grins menacingly.

The fellow gulps "Well, uh, if you boil water, maybe..the other stuff will remain?" //Toto nods, and notices the man has a pot next to him holding fish "We'll be..borrowing that. You can keep the fish " Wag wag

.......minutes later, with a new pot on the raft, they continue boating down river

"You're useful, I must admit" Toto says

"Wish I could say the same about you." Grumbled.

"Like you'd know where anything is without me," He hurumpshs... "HEy, we're making good time. THe pace of the river is really picking up"

She frowns. "Yeah......" suspiciously.

Indeed it is, poling no longer needed!

Klok says "The pace is no longer tick ..tock..it's more like ticktockticktock"

"...... yeah......." She squints ahead.

THe water is getting less blue, and has a lot more white ahead

"Klok, get us to shore."

"Why?" toto says then blinks "Oh..oh I think I hear what you mean" Toto hears it first, but there is a ROARING up ahead, and it ain't no lion

Klok pushes and pushes, but for every five feet towards the shore, it seems you shoot 12 down the river! Forutnatelly..it's enough... you make it to shore in time so you don't go over the now visible falls tumbling to the ocean at a cliff

Alexis glares at the cliff. "Yeah."

"Found the ocean" Toto declares.
