"I'm not scared!" She throws it like a knuckleball, like Les taught her when she was 8.

She hands him a rock, eyebrows raised.

"Oh, it's like that now?" He takes the rock and looks at it, "YOu make me look bad I will dive into that pool and EAT you. Make me look good, I leave you lie. Got it?" Impossible as it seems, the rock almost looks ready to sweat, but that's probably from water nearby in the stream.

And then he hurls his rock, which goes further and harder than hers, which is expected. He's a 14 year old boy!

And she's like... his little sis. Hurmph.

A whistle.

She takes a rock, and makes a show of winding up. "I don't miss my toys." Yeet, though it is not by any stretch a Hammerstrike yeet.

But the passion i there!

"Yeah, I miss my shit too" her brother throws one.

"The Music Man is an underrated musical!"

THAT gets a laugh from Les! "Chicago kicks its ass!"

"Yoooouuuuu have a crush on Roxy!"

But she laughs, bright and loud.

"Sue me" He says but without bite.

"Sides, it's dad that watches those lame ass musicals," HIS turn to lie a bit "he MADE me watch Chicago. It was a drive by culture hit."

"Uh-huh." She sticks her tongue out at him.

"Brat," he says and makes a fake swipe at her that she easily dodges, and by now knows just how to. It's choreographed, easier for a Redcap to say he likes you by 'missing' than by having to use words.

She bends and weaves, stubby little wings making a clatter.

"Jerk!"

"Hey, you wanna see where the trods go?"

"Sure.. come on," He says "You lead. Mom and Dad are working on that barn roof anyway"

"Allllll day."

"There might be fewer girls where we wind up, so you'll have to pace your pick-up lines."

A snort, "It's okay. Lot of ME to go around" He puffs up , which would be more impressive if he had the right plumage.

She giggles. "You and a stepladder."

"If you climb em you get to name em," Then a beat "Don't tell mom I made that joke." ANd they hit a foot bridge, there's silver and... the two are gone from the farm. Surely nothing bad will happen!
