When the Hearth goes for sugar, she discovers an.... egg? Yes, a chicken egg, hidden in the bowl. Easter was weeks ago, and the egg is not dyed (nor cooked) - though it does have a "7" written on it in crayon.

Elsewhere, Clem might have a rather unpleasant experience when she puts on her boots. Egg #11, by the crayon marking, was tucked in the left one.

Kourtney blinks and looks at the egg, #7? "What on earth." / Clem puts her boots on, there is a crunch, and her eyes widen. She sighs "SO many suspects."

#7 is an egg. Off white. Oviod. Small in the troll's hand. Room temperature - but then, with a flock out back, who would refrigerate fresh eggs?

Koutney calls out "Anyone know who left an egg out??"

#11 had been a pale blue green. One of the Ameraucanas.

Clem sighs and wipes her foot and cleans her boot. She willow whispers and asks "Who put you in here? Do you know why? "

"A hen, but half-grown. With hands."

"Oh dear," Clem is no fool, "Amity." She rises to go seek the girl out.

Amity is not in the room her family had been placed in. Nor is she anywhere near the kitchen.

"Now I'm worried," Clem looks about the hen house.

One of the egg crates has been taken down from the shelf and is, apparently, empty.

The girls are fine, clucking away.

She tends to the chickens, "You ladies wouldn't happened to see Amy Novak?" She says it loud enough hoping it's not the chickens who answer but any young lady nearby might.

No luck!

"mmm" Clem hopes the girl is okay. She wanders into the wider farm for a bit, a patrol of sorts though she also helps with chores aNd directs. No hurry... yet.

She does potentially spot another egg in the mailbox (#3) and tucked neatly in a knothole on the north rail fence (#12).

She shakes her head, and now it becomes an egg hunt. A bit silly, but she gets Chayse's help. Her own daughter can sense things being a Witchel, but would it work on Eggs ? Let's find out!

It IS an egg hunt! Between Chayse & Clem, they can easily find 1,2 and 4 in the yard. 11 was rather unfortunately destroyed, but was found. Like 7, 8-10 were in various rooms of the farmhouse.

The found eggs largely appear unharmed and perfectly usable. (Save 11.)

5 and 6 appear to be elusive.

Clem chuckles, "Okay," And she sets ALL the farm childlings to looking for 5 and six.

Five was up a tree, tucked in a robin's nest from last year!

"Found it," Ariel calls out, giggling.

The visiting Satyr is glad of her timing.

And, eventually - very eventually - a 13 is found surrounded by a cairn of pebbles beside the creek.

This one is found by a boy named ... Bob. Bob DeBuke is a humble Kinain. He dutifully brings it over with a smile, "Got 13, that's... that's not bad luck is it?"

Clem takes it "Not to all, and not to you I am sure." She says "Miss Zara loves that number."

(She does!)

Bob says "But what's it all mean? Just a hunt?"

"I think just a hunt," Clem says "NOw you folks thank Amity when you see her next. I suspect she's the one who gave us a good chase. We'l... talk to her about eggs later though. Mostly here we use them for food."

Where IS Amity?

She moves to talk to her family, and finds, god bless, Les, "Les, your sister, you know where she is." / Les looks up from his horror comic, "Well, I didn't devour her flesh, so no." And acts unconcerned. / Clem sighs and moves on. Once she's out of earshot, Les stands up puts the the comic away, and goes looking for her with a worried expression.

She had mentioned something about getting a treat?

Clem rubs her forehead, "Chase doesn't do this." Of course Chase is much younger, not near a wilder. "I'm going to cheat. " She seeks out Uncle Emmit "Mountain, I need a scrying."

Emmit is looking around himself, "Me too. My Fuzzy SLippers that look like Rabbits are gone. I hope Mr. Novak didn't 'borrow' them."

"Well, his daughter is missing, and I don't want to bother the parents and make em panic," Clem says, "So if you could scry on Amy?"

"Sure sure," He says , wondering where those slippers are. ANd he begins to cast... "A bird in the hand is worth two in the field, let her location be revealed."

Emmit's vision builds, showing a bright red play structure, filled with laughing children.

"Okay, looks like a park, or play ground?" He says as he continues to try to find focus.

"Riverview" appears in red lettering on a white tower. There are adults there, too, and strollers and dogs and all things that might be expected at a park on a sunny friday afternoon.

But where is there little bird or girl as case maybe? He ponders and focuses./ Clem waits patiently, well, impatiently by troll standards.

An old woman... no, an old sluagh is on a park bench, feeding the pigeons.

"Got a sluagh here," Emmit says to her, "Feeding pigeons." / Clem blinks "Feed the birds, Tuppins... what was it? Baba Bianca? Oh now. She's gone back home.. Well to her home area. HOW?"

Emmit is a skilled magician - and one of those birds is quite shimmery to glamour-sensitive eyes.

"Well, can she fly yet? Because she's there getting some grub," Emmit says "Not sure how. Lots of options."

Clem winces, "Fantastic. You realize we're supposed to protect that girl and she just went off alone?" / Emmit arches a brow, "Oh you saying young near wilders test boundaries? I've never seen the like. in all my days, though I do hear stories of a 12 year old troll who once decided to she had to cross the state..."/ Clem grumbles "Completely different."

The little pidge appears to be fully fledged, though still on the small side. She's hunkered down near the sluagh's feet.

Clem winces "I have to tell her folks. I'll send some one after her."

"Clem, she got there, let her get back. Show some faith," Emmit tells his dear niece, "She's a PIGEON Pooka. Could probably get her blind folded."
