The DeBuke Farmhold is doing what it does. Helping kithain who ended up in areas of disaster and offering them a temporary stay. Clem misses Agnes a great deal, her wisdom would be useful in dealing with a family they rescued consisting of a mother, father and three kids (Well, 2 childlings and Wilder). The kiths they are of are not the sort that always last well at a farm... as they were city folk; a pooka who pranks folks to 'keep spirits up', a redcap who is unwittingly hostile, a nocker who keeps trying to poke at the tractor Mara once worked on, and a piskie who 'borrows' things.

Only the centaur seems to be enjoying the change of scenery.

"Whatcha doon?" The girl peers at Clem, hanging upside down from her knees, having chosen a stall door as her perch.

Clem looks over at the girl, caught a bit off guard, but then she nods, "Quite a few things. Seeing if Mara can come by to repair a tractor for one. Then there's making sure you family gets some more clothes since you had to come here without much... and do not take that as a fuss, it's just most of our hand me downs are troll sized."

She stretches her arms out, the gesture echoed by a pair of stubby grey wings. "I could fit!"

(She would, in fact, NOT fit. The girl is dancing on the edge of wilderhood, but small for her age.)

Clem smiles at that, "Well, if it were a carrying bag, I'd agree, but we can do better for you, honey. Good voile might cheer you up."

"Oh, oh, I know this! A carrier bag!" The pooka grins brightly. Her orange eyes twinkle with mirth, even though her clothing shows signs of wear and tear from too long in mud and grime.

Clem doesn't mind the dirt herself too much. SHe's a farmer, and, well, her adopted daughter LOVES soil and rocks and things. But the newcomer's mother may have a fit if they let her wander around like that too much, "Well, I think your mother might approve you being treated like a young girl who is properly growing into her lovely wings and needs voile that accommodates."

She huffs, and it comes out as a slightly disgruntled coo.

"Can I have overalls?" She grabs the top of the door with her hands and pulls up to sit upright again. "With pockets and pockets and pockets?"

"...it's important to have pockets."

At that Clem leans over, "As a point of fact, I agree with you. I do not know who tries to keep women from having pockets, but if I ever find the folks responsible I am going to give them a STERN talking to. ANd yes, we can get you some overalls."

She gasps. "A conspiracy!"

"Cons-piracy. Pirates are criminal, but are they conmen? I think they're usually pretty straightforward what with the yo-hos and the arrgh avasts."

"Maybe they're fake pirates? Fake pirates, keeping the ladies from full pocket potential!"

"I have got to introduce you to a wilder named Siv sometime," Clem smiles "I have heard worse theories."

"Do you know any pirates? I knew a pirate once, he had one eye and one leg and one hand."

"One on one side, one on the other?" Clem inquires, but also answers "Well, Siv Waveborne won't confess to piracy, but she does have a ship and loves sailing. Now, honey, can you tell me what your favorite colors are?"

She giggles, and the sound drums at the back of her throat. "How did you guess!? Did you meet him too?"

A thoughtful tilt of her head, making the feathers tracing down her neck shift colors - while most of her plumage is grey or black, those shimmer in iridescent shades of purple, green, and blue.

"Yes?"

"Mmmm" Clem nods "I'm no fashionista, but...." / "BILE YELLOW," A voice says, the pooka's older sibling, "TOTALLY her favorite color." Pooka are not the only ones who lie.

She squawks! "CALUMNY! SLANDER!"

"See, she's lying about it, Pooka do that," The Redcap, her big brother grins in a way that makes most nervous, "It means she LOVES Bile Yellow."

Her feathers puff out and her cheeks turn red. "I DO!"

Clem pats the girl's shoulder, "It's okay, honey, it won't be yellow, Bile or otherwise."

She leans towards the touch, with a soft coo.

(And sticks her tongue out at Big Brother)

"Suck up," Her brother says as she coos, then says to Clem "Yo, Chief, speaking of tongues... I'm hungry. Can I eat a cow?"

"Can you?"

Clem sighs, "No, Les, thank you no, we need those for milking, but Hearth Kourtney might have something for you. We've already talked to a local pig farmer and butcher, he's a redcap too, he might set us up with a wee bit extra."

Fun fact, Les is not the brother's first name, nor is Lester. It's LESLIE ... but he hates it and growls if folks use it.

Naturally, this arrow of annoyance is well placed in his sister's quiver in case it is needed.

Les' stomach rumbles "Ooo sounds like a great job."

Amy knows when to strike - usually NOT when her brother is hungry. "Maybe you could be an apprentice?"

"Baby butcher. Butchlette."

"And live in the country?" He sneers. /Clem ahems "Les, you ARE a guest, one who is hoping for food." / Then he says "I mean, no offense right?" as his source of pig meat is threatened covertly.

"I mean, we've ALWAYS lived in the Country." She hums a few notes of "God Bless the USA"

"And on that note, I'm off to the hearth" Les rolls his eyes "They chose the EAGLE for a reason, sis." And he stomps off to talk to the Hearth.

"I'm an eagle! Hey!"

She rolls off the door in a mostly-contained tumble, and bounces up to her feet.

Clem chuffs at that.

A troll kinain woman, older than clem, comes out "Chief? I got some clothes finished that the young lady here... I'm sorry, I forget her name, might fit into."

"Hi! I'm Sherri!"

Clem smiles as Earl's mother shows up, "ALso known as Amy or Amity. And it's appreciated."

The woman smiles, "Well those are ALL wonderful names," ANd she breaks out some clothes, yes indeed, green and blue are common, and most have spots for her wings to be.

"...are they yellow?"

well, what will be wings. "Yellow ? No, did you want yellow?"

A happy trill escapes and she reaches for the bright turquoise shirt first.
