"Chag sameach!"

"Chag sameach!" A little girl calls out from the tent

"What she said" Buck says

"That means 'happy holidays,' and can be used for most of them. I come bearing raspberry babka."

"Chag sameach..." Clem says trying to commit it to memory

"Babka!" Excited

"Chase , we say THANK you, don't we?" CLem hits firm but loving mom mode

"THank you, Miss Zara" Chase peeks out

She sets the basket down and starts pulling out goodies - there's a loaf-shaped bundle of fabric, and several tupperwares.

"You are welcome, bubbelah."

Next comes a stack of cookbooks, and an expandable binder, "I just photocopied the cards. Feh. They shall do for the nonce."

Chase almost trembles but stays still as she smells the GOODNESS, then she stares at Zara's pale skin, hair, and thin form "Miss Zara, are you sick?"

"Oh, often!" A gleeful, gummy grin.

She unwraps the cloth, revealing a glistening, perfectly marbled pink-and-golden-brown babka.

"Alas, this was only baked this morning. It's obnoxiously fresh."

"Miss Zara is a sluagh, like Mr. DeVere" Clem tells Chase, "They are whisperers, so you have to LISTEN... and you'd be wise to, they know a lot."

Chase nods 'Oooo" And sniffs the 'obnoxiously fresh' food "Smells so good. Can we... MAY I have some?"

Earl smiles at Zara "Sluagh are also into spooky stuff, but classy spooky, not crass spooky"

"Ask thy maminke."

"May I have some, Maminke?" Chase looks at Clem hopefully

"Yes you may," Clem says "And you should show Miss Zara your tent"

Zara slices the babka, setting the heel aside before passing a slice to the witchel.

The Witchel takes it, and says "Come on inside, it's nice" She motions Miss Zara to follow

The interior does have some celtic and norse touches

"Lead on, bubbelah."

And in they go... oh, there's a lovely bit of hand crafted ...

"Oh, that's lovely. Who made it?"

"They said the box was originally from Rivervale" She does mispronouce that a bit "But then they touched it up here with the Star of David and stuf"

"Could be Tove" Earl comments "Or Brekke's work , then the alterations here"

"It's mine" The Little Wichtel says a bit guardedly. She's lost so much, she doesn't want to lose this too

"Aye?"

Then the girl says looking a bit sheepish "Yes. Uhm, thank you for the food?"

"You're welcome. This came with you, then? It is a good box. You can lock it and hide secrets inside."

"...or rocks. Lots of rocks."

"I like rocks" She opens it up and there are Geodes

"Ohhhh."

Zara is appropriately impressed by the geode collection.

"YES" the girl says excitedly, even as she eats with one hand "See, this one is purple inside"

"Amethyst."

"Good for protective spells, scrying, intuition, healing - really, a good all-arounder of a crystal."

"Amethyss" She says , well she is young "They're magic? I KNEW IT" Excitedly

"There's lots of ways to use rocks in magic, if you wish to learn."

"I'm an Alte Mkhshefe, nu?" To a childling, Zara must be an old witch, indeed.

She makes a warding gesture against the evil eye, "There. I'm immune to your power..." A beat "But I did just eat your food" She takes another bite, decides it is worth the risk and has another "I'd like to learn. I never used to get dirty, now I'm allowed. So I want to learn about things I can dig up and the magic they have. It's COOL" She exudes

Earl looks amused at the 'immune to your power' comment, but Zara can feel the bunk like magic the girl almost conjured through belief alone

"Clementine is well versed in the magic of earth and soil and field."

"She DOES?" A surprised look, apparently Clem doesn't make a fuss over this and Chase is surprised, "Like when she turns into a bird and sings to me?"

Earl grins "She does that?"

"Uh huh" A smile from the girl "But she knows ROCK magic? She didn't tell me."
