Zara's ears settle gently

"The DeBukes tend to be very trollish."

"Well most of em are, but they're nice" Chase grins

"Yeah. They're my mischpocha, too."

Earl wiggles fingers in a 'hi' gesture at that

Chase smiles at the term, "They try to learn for me and it's nice but they don't gotta, I know they're menchs and i got a great new mom" a sad look then "My old one got cold..she hurt me. She didn't mean to"

"No, she didn't."

"You know, I was adopted, too."

"You were?" A surprised look

She nods.

"Miriam - my birth mom - she couldn't take care of me. It wasn't her fault."

The little bundle of Wichtel nods "Did you avenge your mom from those what made it so she dcouldn't care for you?"

Zara considers, and nods. "Yes."

"Good" Chase nods firmly. She is , after all, a wichtel

"I love Miriam very much. But Mama... Hannah is my mom, too."

"Hannah is a pretty name" The little girl observes, then says "So you can have an old mom and a new mom and it's okay to love them both?"

"Exactly. So I have two. Plus Papa and my Uncles and so many siblings..."

A nod, then a troubled look "I got LOADS of cousins now, but I need mama Clem and Papa buck to get me a sister"

Earl arches a brow at this

"I was sixteen before I got any siblings."

"And then she couldn't stop" Earl jokes

A sigh. "Oy gevalt, tis true."

"Sixteen? " Chase's eyes widen "That's really old"

"So very old."

Chase looks at Zara with concern, as if the poor crone might expire if treated roughly.

"But right now, you have lots of cousins AND a box of rocks. If you had a baby sister, she might touch your rocks."

A sigh then "Yes, but I GUESS I could share, IF she were nice and polite"

"Very mindful."

A nod then she says "What kind of rocks do you like?"

"Ohhh.. well, amethyst is one. Hematite. Malachite."

"Hematite, if you cut it, the dust is the color of blood!"

At the mention of Hematite, the girl smiles, and reaches into her stuff, and pulls a small piece out and offers it "For you, for being so nice. Make it bleed"

A soft noise of delight, and she cups it in her hands. "Nice and cold, too."

"YUP" The girl smiles, glad it is well recieved

"You want some tea, Zara?" Clem can be heard outside the tent

"Tea sounds lovely!"

Tea will be prepared for them, with Buck taking his standing nearby as it is just more comfortable for him. Zara can see that the farm harvest is RICH all around, and the fall colors vibrant. It is not hard to guess why. Clem may fuss, but she is full of joy at having a man she loves, and now a daughter to spoil. The hold and she are one, and she's always had ties to the land, so the farm reaps even more benifets.

Zara just smiles.

Clem says "Now, Miss Zara, is there some tradition we're forgetting this fine holiday? Stories told or some such?"

"Well, let me tell you about the meaning behind Sukkot..."
