"For what it is worth, she spirited me from my lover's arms."

"I am less than pleased that the goal of the working eludes me."

"mm" And Clem's brow knits

"I believe I did so willingly.."

Clem says "The goal... Zara... Fire, Earth, and River... is there some.. is that a clue to what she used us for? Three I gget. Magic number"

"Would she be Air?"

"Mayhaps if we find the nocker..."

"Good luck... not sure Kenzie will rremember much more than we do"

"Kenzie?"

At the nnocker's name, Zara feels more memories unlock. the image of a nocker with red hair.. rather than the usual white. A dye? or natural? Doesn't matter

"...the redhead..."

"Hey... I remember yes. She was as confused as I was"

"Yet you didn't remember me?"

"I remember you, just .. it's all disjointed"

"What do you remember?"

"All out of order.. a pale hand, your hands, i think you were... doing something with..strings? Blue ones. And.. Kenzie had a .. was it a torch? No.. fire came from her...I .. I dug patterns in the earth"

As Clem shares what she recalls, the images come to Zara's mind too.

And Zara is very good with patterns

Zara nods, and hastily finds something to sketch on.

Not hard. Clem has some papers on a desk and oh an actualy ink well and quill.

Clem says "Yes, like that, but I think it curved just a bit more ..."

Nod, nod, tweak...

"Oh drat. If Kenzi were here, she might know a few things I'm missing"

Stil, Zara works at it

Her own memories as ggood a guide now. But yes, Kenzi might unlock some more just as talking to Clem did

"So, where is Kenzie?"

"That I don't remember... but I know a Cajun accent when I hear it"

"Mmm.."

"Bertrand may know."

"Come to think of it, he might" Clem says "Being both a nocker and Cajun himself in part"

"Exactly."

"Mmph.. well, meann time I seem to be stuck unseelie. If Belaine don't pop it the old fogeys here are liable to panic"

"But I am curious .. if you find Kenzi, share the story with me after you get it?"

"Well, Clementine... change is good, nu?" A wry grin.

"Sure is" She stretches "I do feel like misbeavin.. may take a walk about and let the elders mind the store."

"Or get to Spring activities, aye? Go leap a fire?"

"Worried that 'corruptor' title lost it's intimidation factor?" A grin wolf teeth "Not that it doesn't sound fun. Earl treatingg you right still ? you getting a chance to howl at tthe moon yourself now and then?"

A secretive smile. "Mayhaps."

"Well, the smile tells enough. " She moves with power, and as if a weight were off her shoulders, nnot the rulership, she still rules here. Like a she wolf over a pack .. and she'll tear a throat out if they forget it. But she is free of some restrictions of civiliozations.

"Good hunting. I shall seek Bert."

A nod "Good huntin yourself. Keep me posted"

and off Zara goes
