"Mister Stodgepole, I can't tell you how this may not be the best time to reason with me" Chieftain Clem is.. different.

He remembers a long time aggo when she dabbled with Unseelineess... and here are the signs she is again. However, it's damnn near beltaine

"Oh, I don't know Chief Clem....." he says with a twinkle "You seem reasonable enough to me."

She pulls out a bottle of whiskey and gets two glasses and pours them full, "Huh. I suppose I might"

"To your continued good health." he toasts her.

"And to you and yours" She swigs, "Finne fine.. I'm a bit less honorable than normal right now but if that doesn't bother you none, let's hear what you wanted to talk about"

He explains about Lotusland, circumspectly and without identifying the exact location.

"They don't sound too secure" A scowl on her face

"They aren't." he agrees "Now, I understand they might be finding their way into a bit of crass treasure; nothing magical, just the sort of thing that spends mortal or Fae. That should help, don't you think?"

"Might. .how they doing on food?" A curious tilt

"They seemed.... adequately supplied."

"mmm so it's might and money is it? Yes I suppose we can make sure they get a bit of a back up. Nobles always eye what they see as weak as fair game"

"You would know better than I." humbly.

"You realize, you bringing this to my attention makes me wonder what you get from this place thriving?"

"Fair enough, I would say. And after all, wonder is such a vital component of our lives and our Dreams, is it not?"

She raises a brow "YOu know what I mean" She snorts "Why are you invested?"

"Do you mean 'what's in it for me'?"

"Pretty much yeah" Clem pours a refil for them both

He sighs mournfully. "The .... calling of my kith, I fear. I'm helpless before it, which is somewhat ironic. Those in need.... I cannot sleep at night, you understand?"

"Can't say I do, but tried a cookie but didn't become a boggan. however I suppose we're all tied to our natures"

"I am sure of it. What -did- you become?" a n eyebrow.

"One time I became a satyress" She says

There's a glint in his eye and he says "-One- time? There was more than one time?" very curious.

"Yes.. now surely you have seen and heard of them yes? they pop up now and then..seems every year they show up at one hold or another"

"Oh, yes." he chuckles and sips his drink "I've.... heard of them. I meant for you, individually, though; have you changed Kiths more than once?"

"I have.. though I won' go into more details than I've given" She says "Now.. how is CC? "

"Oh, marvelously well and as distracting as ever." He chuckles.

"Hell, hope I look half that good at her age. Some folks thinnk she's tryingg to keep the grand kids to herself" A smile "I imagine she mostly just wants first dibs"

"She does have certain... appetites, for what she wants, yes." fondly.

"Well, Glad she's doing well... now, about this Lotusland place.. do you know much aboutt their magical defenses?"

"I didn't like to pry."

"Also, questions like that might gget their hackles up. Just wodering how much Uncle emmit's magic might bosot em" She ponders "mmm yes this might work. Build them up slow and easy for a time, then when the inenvitable first attempt is made... end up with a sidhe hostage so folks can talk more favorable recoginition"

A sly smile. "Chief Clem, that is .... positively inspired. One wonders by what....?"

"History, you'd be surprised at the number of pointy eared twits we had try to tangle wiht us only to start talking 'diplomacy' when they got beat in a fight" A snort "there are no less than five sidhe nobles out there sworn to never return here, nor take revenge directly or indirectly agains the farm or any DeBukes." A smirk "And there's atl east one tree that used to be an Ailil and wouldn't swear straight"

"Have I mentioned how honored I'd be if you were to give me a personal tour of your holding, Chief?" with a winsome twinkle.

There's..almost a throaty growl chuckle from her "Come on.. somehow I doubt you'll try to undo it"

"Oh my....." he takes a deep breath "Chief, if I were a braver man and not spoken for..... ah well. Do lead on." and he will follow with an unspoken appreciation for the visuals.

"I'll take the flattery but to be honest, you're not my type" She sighs though. Clearly the lack of male attention in her life bothers here.. Her suitor has been away awhile.

They travel out. Emerson can see concerned looks from the other trolls. It's not natural to be unseelie this close o Beltaine when you're usually Seelie anyway.

She leads him to a wood nearby, "Now where did.. oh there you are, you son of a birch"

"Ain't he all high and mighty?" She says

Emerson kens the tree. Oh, Elderformed yes... but under that, yes, there's that sidhe hubris into the very bark

Perhaps a bit humbled now

"And.... you never felt the need for kindling?"

"Very small, shaved, splintered pieces?"

"Right of life, Right of Rescue, and Haven must be observed" She says "now, we do have dogs on the farm. Make of that what you will. "

He coughs, chuckles, then laughs; the kind of laugh one might expect from a short Santa; belly-shaking.

He coughs again to catch himself and sobers. "I shall have to bring treats for them on my next visit."

"Well, don't over do and spoil but sure.." Clem smiles "Great Pyreannes Fae hounds are good to have."
