And so it was that Zara, so recently 'borrowed' woke a second time ,and went to seek out Clem

Whether she changed out of her new witch dress is up to her

Well, it IS fabulous.

And there's a hat.

There is.

So she comes to the farm. Things seem on.. high alert, a bit of a panic by troll standards

Zara slips through, paying attention, not drawing it.

She slips past those guarding, though it's not without challenge. And hears "It's just not possible. It's nearly beltaine"

"Well, it is, and that means more thunderstorms"

Oh, time to eavesdrop.

"how could she be unseelie?"

"We've neverh ad an unseelie chieftain before.. Mean tempered sure... but unseleie as a CHIEF?"

It would appear something has driven Clem unseelie. And, Zara has an idea what.. or WHO might have done that

Well, Zara LIKES midriff Clem.

And onward she goes.

There's Clem's 'house'

Zara peeks inside.

hanging on a coat rack is a hat, very much like her own.. size large though.

And she hears muttering

"tarnation, about had it enough with the stares of folks around here... yes I'm unseelie, but if that's gonna slow their work, I'll SHOW them savage"

"The seasons march, no matter what shirt you bear."

A whirl, then Clem comes into view. If she has a witch outfit, she has changed out of it. The mid riff barring outfit though definitely clues her friend in. Clem looks , no pun intended, more primal, savage but not stupid. This is the woman who once gelded a monster without remorse in order to find a balance between friends. Still a natural leader in her way

"Zara? what are you doing here?" She asked

Zara places a hand on her chest and bows over it.

"Seeking, it seems, a conspirator."

"You knnow wha's wrong with me?" A pause "Course you do. Near as the Mountain can figure out is someone more powerful than HIM whistled me up..." A scowl "Like I was a dog."

"Aye. ANd I had hoped to see if you remembered aught."

"I remember... .. smells.. bubbling broth.. I think... and smoke. Leaves. The feel of the Earth under me."

"Aye. And you stood for the Land."

"River.. land..fire" Clem says "Zara, what did we do?"

She tosses up her hands. "I cannot remember!"

"Twas I and thee and a nocker. And Grandmother summoned us all without asking."

"But why me? Zara, you're a witch...trained and all... but I nenver saw myself as such. Hell, Gerd of Rivervale'd be a better choice"

"Oh, nay, merely a mistress of Nature and Primal arts."

"Well yeah, Spring is.. oh. ." A blush "You're saying I'm technnically a sorceress betweenn my Primal and Spring"

A brow.

"Zara, you know I don't think of myself that way" A pause "Admitedly, in my current mood, dancing in front of a bonfire seems natural"

"You may not, yet She called you."

"Frankly, I would value her estimate above yours."

"Fair" she concedes "Doesn't mean I like not havinng a choicee in the matter. I remember poinnting out how I had duties and.. and her scoffing. .and.. then" Clem looks flummoxed, trying to recall it

But for Zara, it's not hard to imagine her friend protesting to Baba yaga, explaining she had duties at the farm .. so naturally, Baba Yaga turned her Unseeie so Passion came first

Mouthing off to the little grand mother or giving moral lectures to her never did play well

"Ohhhh.. aye, of course."

"of course what?" A brow

"Grandmother is not known for her patience."

"You're going to have to traslate that into Iowan straightforwardnness."

"You were summoned by Grandmother."

"The Kindest One."

"She who lives in the hut on fowl's legs."

"YOu're saying I.. mouthed off to one of the most powerful dreams still existingg about how i had to be home to milk a cow.. and she took offense" Despite her earlier comment, Clem is NOT dumb
