“It’s ok!,” Connor calls!

Clem retrieves it "I don't think it got damaged too badly. Maybe a bit dinged"

He is putting a bandaid on the tailpipe.

"Da-ad." She gets up and brushes off. Immortal youth!

"Right kind of you, Connor" Clem says

"Yep. Connor is taking kind classes" Jack agrees

Jaymes grunts ("Let me look at you") He checks for bruises, wounds

“It’s how I stay one of a kind!”

Some road rash, nothing serious.

Mmmph Fuss. "Clem, she's got some abbrastions"

"I'm fine. Dad, this is nothing to fuss over." She takes the bike from Clem. "Thanks, Clem."

Clem looks over "She'll be fine, Jaymes. She's a tough girl"

The chimera watching seem sad the show is over ,and go off.

Except for a vulture chimera that lands on the bike "Can I eat it now?" he asks

"No!"

The Vulture sighs

and flutters off

It turns out the ride is fine. Jaymes says 'that's enough for today I think"

"Ten more minutes?"

“But I gotta POLISH it now.” Connor insists, seeing the set of Jaymes’ chin.

“Else I’m the WORLST MotorSquire EVER.” Is that even a word?

"You're the best squire!"

Jack Flap says "I can help. I'm not a squire, but I'm a Squirefriend, it's like a dwarf friend, but he doesn't have a beard"

Jaymes says "Let the boys polish it"

Eyebrow. "I mean, it's my bike..."

“Wanna sit in the sidecar?” He offers. “It’s the best way to polish the chrome behind the seat panels.”

“Our bike!” He chimes in with uncustomary boldness.

Jaymes looks at his daughter

"Our bike." Agreeably.

Connors smile is brighter than the headlights.

Jack sliips into the sidecar "Cool"

Jaymes says "Dagmar.. let them polish it, then take ten minutes more. I need the time to set my heart right"

"One little skid - you should see it when I fall off the HORSE. Stormwake is WAY taller."

"I have seen it. This feels different" he says

Jack Flap begins polishing "This is the way we break awkward tension, break awkward tension, this is the way we break awkward tension..." he sing songs just louod enough to be heard

Jaymes looks sheepish but amused at the boy's song

He rubs a scuff from the fender. “All shiny, Sarge!”

"Thanks, Squire." Pause. "And Uncle."

"Okay, NOW you have ten minutes" Jaymes says

Jack grins "That's fine, my niece"

Connor rolls his eyes.

"What? You get at Knight time" Jack says "I get her on the NieceTeenth " Then he laughs because that was funny

A little eye roll. "You two."

And - ten minutes! Vroom!

Jaymes watches. Hoping she does better this time.

Clem whispers "Jaymes. You picked this place because it's safe. "

"Mmm" A frown

She raises a brow "Oh that. She's still a teenager, gonna happen"
