"I thought you loved Grand Dame Bondraste and her lessons?"

"She said she'd talk to my mentors. Chief DeBuke said she'd talked with mentors and parents and Baronesses, even. My mentors had to know about all this crap, even if they didn't approve.'

"Okay so isn't that good? They'd never do what was bad for you"

"They -all- decided to blindside me with it. They might -think- this is good for me, but they're wrong."

Nabuni says "Okay. Maybe I'm not seeing why this is so bad? You say everyone here hates you but I'm not seeing that. Okay, your mom as your teacher? Awkward, but other than that. Seems good"

"I hate it here. Even if they welcomed me with a big brass band, I don't want to go to school here. I don't want to go to school at all but if I have to, I want to go somewhere else."

"So.. you don't really have a good reason to hate it here. You just decided to. And now you'll cut your nose off to spite your face rather than have a moment of happiness here?"

"I do have good reasons, Nab. Piper's here. Dagmar. Sally Mae. And yeah, Her."

"Piper is a friend who cares about you. Dagmar isn't saying anything mean to you, it's like she's invisible half the time. Sally Mae is your bussiness partner and I thought friend. You might not be able to bone her, but it's not like she's having her sidhe boyfriend bend her over the teacher's desk to rub your face in it" Nabuni lists these off as if she's thought them over

He jogs on. "Seeing Piper hurts." And she can feel his pang even as he says it; apparently even thinking about her so close and yet so far. "Sally Mae -was- my business partner."

"And besides -all- that, they just decided what was good for me without asking -me- about it."

"So if they'd asked you you would have said sure?"

"I would have said hell no, but we could have talked about it and figured something out."

"Ah." As if that settles something

"What?"

"Just... conjecture" She says "And way over my brainpowe"

"Pfpft." He has yet to break a sweat. "You're smart, Nab."

"Go on, tell me."

"Maybe that's one of the 'steps' one of the tests? Maybe.. in order to be a sidhe.. you need to understand authority and how to accept it over you even when it's unpleasant and you don't always agree?"

"I already know how to do that. You know I was varsity."

"Yeah, but that was for sports. I.. i don't know. Just a theory"

"I did ok at Rivervale too. I sucked it up and did what I was told. I can follow orders."

"Yeah, but you kind of punish folks for it" She says

"Ihave no power, no rank, no authority. What are you talking about, me punishing people.?"

"Just.. it's hard to describe, but you drag your heels, you let them know how much you hate everything every second of every moment. You won't have fun, so they won't have fun.. not around you"

"I can't be honest about being angry?"

"There's a difference between being honest about being angry, and doing your best to punish them for it"

"Well what do you want me to do??"

"I don't know" She admits "I'll think on it"

"Mmph." Adam looks around.... f'Christsake, this PE crap never ends?

The whistle blows "Ok. Take a break"

Adam stops jogging, wanders over to the side.

Alanza sits down "Were you.. watching my butt?"

"Yeah." He admits it honestly, with a very tiny grin.

She rolls her eyes but snerks anyway "I think at this rate you're going to corrupt poor innocent Nab"

"Have we met?" Nab says

and grins herself

"Who do you think suggested it?"

"NAAAB" Alanza says

Nab holds up her hand volunteering "It was the best view"

Adam looks thoughtful a moment.

Alanza says "Oh god. He's ranking our asses"

Another little grin! "I was -not-. I was wondering......" he trails off.

"Yeah?" Alanza says

"Well, Nab has this thing she does....." he glances at the diminutive imp.

He shrugs. "Was wondering if you wanted to try it. No big."

"TRy a thing?" Alanza says "What thing?"
