Sally mae nods to Sylvi

Then Sally Mae takes a breath "Hearth Agnes, One thing I am having trouble is quelling things here. And Chief Clem could use the help. If you've changed your mind about sidhe even a little maybe..."

"I haven't" Agnes says "I do not trust noble Sidhe. I never likely will. I will tolerate them at best. "

"Oh" Sally Mae says and nods, resigned.

Sylvi bites her lip.

"But what I will do is tell those pig headed youngsters they can get their OWN biases. " The old woman snorts "I want them cautious, Yes, I want them safe. But I never once helped raise any of them to be sheep. I won't have them bleating in panic at the thought of them being helpless against sidhe just because I'm taking a nap. Of all the woolbrained notions. " She says "Clem's chief now, not me. If they're going to act liek sheep, then follow the Shepherd, and if they're not sheep, then why are they baaaing over the same cliff I went over? EEither way the way they've behaved is embarrassing and I'm scandalized Miss Zara had to see it."

"You youngsters are supposed to be BETTER than my generation, or what was all that work for? MMMM?" Agnes waves her cane at them

"Uhhhhh....." Sylvi backs off from the cane. "I'm...not the one doing it?" she points out.

"Mm."

Sally Mae nods "These girls are the GOAT"

"They don't look like satyrs" A confused look

A grin, "Instead of the sheep?"

"Greatest of all time" Sally Mae translates.

"I don't know why more than four words strung together scares Millenials so, I really don't" Agnes hurumphs "Point is, I'll knock some sense into their heads about being their OWN brand of angry and spiteful and not mine, or following Clem if they really do't want to think for themselves. Also.. why do I not have some of this california food on a plate? I'm sick of soup"

Sylvi jumps to get a plate!

And the old woman nods "Thank you" As the food is prepared and laid before her.

A little sniff. "I would ask, perhaps to save a little? I am curious about it..."

"Will do," Sally Mae says, looking nervous as Agnes takes the first few bites.

The old woman chews, samples ,and considers.

Sally Mae hasn't breathed.

Then finally, the old woman admits "I maybe wanting seconds." And enjoys

Sylvi elbows Sally Mae to make sure she breathes.

At the mention of seconds, Sally Mae starts to breathe, only to get elbowed to make a bit loud 'woosh' sound

"You've done well, girls, good job to you, Hearth SallyMae" Agnes says and samples

At the words HEARTH Sally mae, Sally Mae smiles. She doesn't think the old woman is abdicating anything , atl east not more than temporary, but .. it felt good to hear

Sylvi's jaw drops at that title and she smiles at Sally Mae and gives her a thumbs up.

"Thank you" Sally mae says "Now, excuse me, I need to go feed the next shift of DeBukes. Hope they like it"

"Don't take their sass if they're afraid to try something new. " Agnes declares enjoying a meal "Lord knows you put up with ME enough you can talk to them"

Sally Mae nods, then goes out of the kitchen briefly, a triangle rings and a voice , not the one mmost are use to, calls out "COME AND GET IT!"

"Oh, boy, here we go...." And Sylvi switches into serving mode.

Zara... avoids that, the dining hall too loud and crowded for her taste.

And she finds a passage, a portal passage, waiting for her. On the other side, the quiet side out doors? earl. "My lady?"

Earl wins a smile. "M'lord."

He offers his arm to her, "You know, if my guesses are right, Sally Mae's smile would mean you have helped defeat yet another dragon. Metaphorically speaking. You are a wonder, my hart"

She takes his hand. "Nay, Sally Mae did the bulk of it."

"Did she?" A smile "Good on her. But I'm still going to give at least a leeetle credit to 'the great corruptor'" And off they walk, where he hopes to have her all to himself for a bit in the quiet parts of the farm where they can talk, or not talk, and enjoy being alone together.

As for Sylvi? She finds herself busy, but others are handed the clean up after the meal since she did the serving. She has a meal of her own, and then hears a voice behind her. Clem's voice "Sally Mae tells me your mother would be right proud of you. "

"Mm!" She finishes the bite that's in her mouth. "Sally Mae said that? I didn't really do much. She stood up for herself."

"Oh so you didn't encourage or throw just one or two comments at the right moment to either divert or placate or focus as needed?" Clem raises a brow "Pull the other one, maybe I'll walk in circles"

"Well...me and Miss Zara both. But really, Sally Mae didn't need the backup. She did fine."

"She's grown" AN admission and a smile "And I hear that even Hearth Agnes is.. holding on"

"Holding on? Well...I mean, she really thought about stuff. It was cool. She said she had all these beliefs, and I'm thinking, well, that's it for Sally Mae, and then Hearth Agnes said that those are her beliefs, and that other people trying to do the same thing is kind of missing the point, and I was like, WOW, she really went there!"

"She and I had a talk..." clem says "not an easy one. But in the end, yeah, she's the one who went there. I guess holding on isn't the right phrase. Moving on or at least pushing others forward if she can't move herself? More like?"

"That sounds like it. It was really surprising."

"Proud of em" Clem nods, then she sighs then looks around "mmm.. got a quest needs doing but I can't have a DeBuke do it"

"She even called Sally Mae 'Hearth'" Sylvi adds.

That raises both brows on Clem "Well, I didn't suggest she do that not that I'd dare"

"Oh! Maybe I can do whatever it is?"

She leans down "You think you'd be interested i nfinding some of those kith changing cookies? Like enough for a farm full of trolls?" A whisper

Sylvi stares at her. "You're...you're serious? You want me to get those things here? One purpose?"
