"Maybe" the old woman says "Would he?"

"If it meant hurting SallyMae or her family?" A frown. "I don't think he would."

"Feh. Can't trust those goyim."

Agnes raises a brow at Zara

A wide-eyed blink at Zara. "Zaaaraaaaa," she hisses.

Sally Mae looks at Zara, "Now, Zara..."

"What? You can't. They've hurt our people in the past - slaughtered us. Can't trust their ways, best to stick to your own kind."

Agnes mmms "Well, I know for a fact you don't believe that, Miss Zara. And I'm not such a fool as I don't see what you're trying to do here."

"Carowyn is a member of a bannerhouse of Liam. Not only does her protect mortals with his life, he protects mortal love. " Sally mae insists

"You mean I didn't betray my heritage by dating Earl?"

"Depends, you stay Kosher?" Agnes asks Zara

"I do. Earl has..." Sigh. "A bacon drawer."

Sylvi watches Zara and Agnes, then gives Sally Mae a bemused look. ((And her player remembers to hit Enter.))

Agnes nods, then she glances over at Sally Mae "You ever root for a team against the hawkeyes just to appease a noble friend?"

Sally Mae gasps "NEVER. Hawkeye Do or Die till I DO die. Why, Sports aside, once I argued with Dagmar for an Hour explaining why Hawkeye was NOT the weakest Avenger!"

"Well, don't blame her , she's young and probably overly impressed by lightning hammers" Agnes says "But good. I am mollified."

Agnes glances over at Zara "A bacon drawer mm? He doesn't use your skillet does he? Not for that?"

"Nay, his have red handles. I do not use them."

"Um...Hearth Agnes?" Again with the hand up. "If you're mollified, can you maybe mollify everybody else? They've been...kinda mean."

"Good system" A nod from Agnes, then she looks at Sylvi "now Sylvi, don't spread taht out too thin. I'm mollified about Sports and superheroes. I still don't much like the idea of some sidhe all over one of my kinswomen"

"Um...oh." Sylvi abruptly turns back to the dishes.

"Damn it, " Sally Mae says "Granny Agnes, I'm usually the one over HIM," A huff "You know how hard I had to work to coax him into action? And frankly, Mother nature gave me a great set of coaxers. I'm not ashamed of this. It's not wrong. And if he ever breaks my heart, I got news for each DeBuke talking about how they'l teach him a lesson, I will handle that too and more creatively than half here could. You made your choices, and they were brave, and bold and heartbreaking, and you know what you said? You said that you did half of what you did so we could have more freedom. Well, I'm using that freedom you got me. It won't always be the way you like"

"Sally Mae DeBuke" The old woman gasps "I just had ONE heart attack, are you trying to give me another?"

"Though you certainly do not think you were afflicted by Clementine's leadership and Sally Mae daring to venture off to college..."

Agnes looks at Zara with narrowed eyes "I hope you have kids just like you"

Mince mince mince. Just a whisper.

"Funny, Emmitt wishes the same."

Sylvi has been washing that plate for several minutes now. But yeah, she's definitely grinning, too.

"Hearth Agnes" Sally Mae, "Stop that. She's not yours to curse... or bless, not like that. And I'm NOT trying to give you a heart attack. No one is. Myrttle anne felt terrible. Why she broke up with Torin over it..."

"What?" Agnes gasps, "She broke up with Torin? Over me? Well that's just foolishness. He's a fine young man with a bit of land. Did you talk to her about this?"

"Well, not much" Sally mae admits

"As Hearth you have to look out for communities" Agnes says "And that includes our allies. What fool thing did that skald say? Musicians... great when they're singing, but when they talk... nonsense half the time"

"I think...he said she was being 'silly.'" Sylvi sighs. "I've already scolded him."

"But I bet he'd actually listen to you."

"He called the woman in his life silly when she was in distress? Let me guess, your mother wasn't within a half mile of this was she? Not when it happened" Agnes asks Sylvi

"She woulda exploded, yeah."

Zara shakes her head.

"I thought not, she'd have yanked him by his lute strings and shook him, and rightwise so" Agnes humph "Silly. No wonder the poor woman dropped him on his butt. She needs to let him come with flowers or the like though. This could take some finesing.... I need to talk to Hearth Kerri if she's not already ahead of it"

"Well, I haven't had a chance to talk to Mom about it. Been sorta focused here. And...you probably shouldn't go by trod...but I can go home and get her to come here?"

"I'm not an invalid..." the old woman scowls

"We'll let's call Chieftain Clem here and see what she thinks then," Sally Mae suggests.

"Hmmph, Clem's gotten big for her britches" Agnes scowls again "ordering me around like her..."

"Patient?" Sally mae smirks

Agnes gives her a withering look

And Sally Mae blushes and backs down from THAT One

"I...uh...well, I just mean, she's said she'd come up when things settled down a bit. I know she wants to come see you, but she didn't want to be a bother."

"Oh child your mother is seldom a bother. I know she finds me hidebound at times, but we respect each other's domains. You invite her when she's not busy, and i know that might be quite a bit"

"Mama has threatened to make you soup."

"Well she's a good woman, no doubt" Agnes says "Earl's sworn by her soup in fact."

"Thank you, Hearth Agnes, I will." A hesitant glance at SallyMae.
