"Is.. ah, Chief Clem here? I brought my friend Adam. She said I could" Zane says.

Adam does not flinch.

A chorus of grunts, nods and so forth, few words. But sure enough in a corner NOT eating, is a woman who screams farm girl. "Oh, didn't know you were bringing him today, Zane. Come on, let's go to the kitchen, it's a bit less crowded." A nod to Adam, "I'm Chieftain here. Good to have you."

a mutter behind Adam as Zane and he walk

"Sure hope blood don't tell with that one"

"Dude. What?"

The man who said it looks up, "I said "I sure hope blood don't tell with that one"' and he stands. Fifty years old, solid muscle, six foot 7 "That's my opinion. You got a problem with Free Speech boy?"

"No, no he doesn't" Zane says pulling Adam along

and Zane whispers "Dude. Do not pick a fight here"

Adam nods. "Okay."

And into the kitchen they go. Clem waits for them, and she's shooed others out, "Welcome to the DeBuke Farmhold." She offers a hand to Adam.

"Wow......" He gives her a hand.

"I'm Clem DeBuke, but if you would, call me Chief on the farm. " She says "You've been busy, Adam. I hear your name come up a powerful lot"

"Clem... you're like..... a legend." Holding her hand.

'I ..what?" A BLINK her blue hand loosening it's grip

Zane joins in, "You helped find Thyle, you quested with witches. Saved a lot of lives with your healing. In Rivervale you get a lot of props."

"Wow...."

"I think you folks are funning me," Clem says with a brow "Chieftain Brekke now... she's the legend."

"That's like.... because one person isn't, another person can't?" He grins. "You're amazing."

A light blush then, "Sally Mae told me you were sweet talkers, the two of you"

Zane says "Guilty as charged" A smile

"But it doesn't make it not true, Right Adam?" The satyr nudges his buddy

"Right!"

"Okay you two, what can I show you first? Oh, careful around the scarecrow, wise but mean." She says

"And can I get you something to.." She eyes Adam's outfit "You must be freezing. Is that what you wore on the way here?"

He looks at himself.

"Is that jacket it?" She asks

"It's... chilly. Yeah." He grins.

"Hold up a sec." She opens the door and says a few orders, then a moment later...

"Try this on," She says

He puts it on... and he makes it look good.

"Coo.l."

"Thought that might fit you. Feel free to keep it. The childling that had it outgrew it" She says

Zane tries not to snort

"Now, Adam, anything you'd like to see? "

"We got stables, a few cows, crops are not really IN bulk right now but we're always harvesting something."

Connor comes trotting around a corner, and stops, hand flashing up to his mouth. "Uh oh! Adam, did you sneak in? And Chief arrested you? And she's taking you to the stocks? I won't allow it!" Rushing over to throw his arms around Adam's legs. "He's my friend! You can't draw and quarter him! Unless you use crayons."

Adam, hogtied, goes down.

Connor, having gone through the older group's dining shift, might have 'found' a roll or two as well

Clem watches this serenely Don't laugh, don't laugh

"Crap, dude..." THUD "....dude...."

He sits up, protectively atop Adam. "You want to take him to the pokey, then you have to go through me!"

Zane is grinning, and then looks at Clem "This is SO why you need more non trolls here."

"He's not going in the pokey, Connor." Clem says "So rise up, all right? "

"Oh." He stands, dusting at Adam's front where he knocked into the ground. "Adam, why are you on the ground? You can bow to the chief, but you don't gotta go that far."

Clem offers Adam a hand "There we go"

"Hey....." taking Clem's hand. "Thanks."

"Glad I could help. Bye!" He trots off, chewing on a roll.

"That boy" she smiles "Seems he's loyal to you there, Adam."

"Uh... thanks."
