"Well yes..." CC says then looks at the wood paneling "To whom it may concern. I'm here to be a grandmother...nothing else, but... really, wonderful magics...five out of five."

"Hear hear." He toasts.

There is no sign of anyone listening, but who knows?

The door opens and June Maude returns.

Stodgepole stands again,politely.

The meal smells..wonderful, "I'm sorry. I didn't consider asking and I should have, but we have Country Fried steak, mashed potatoes with gravy, and buttered biscuits. Is that okay?" The troll Kinain says

"Much more than ok!" Delighted; he clearly loves a good meal.

"Oh I'm going to be dong some time on the treadmill" CC looks at the heavy food

"I'll do my best to help you in that regard, Miss CC." Politely.

"If you don't mind me saying, Miss CC, I've seen women with half your seasons not near so toned. You may not do farm work but it's clear you keep yourself in good shape" June doesn't realize it, but she scored some points as she sets the food down.

His eye twinkles and he helps set the meal up.

"Dancing helps" CC admits "I'm mostly a singer, but they do expect movement."

The meal is delcious, in fact, whoever made this might have a gravy blend worth stealing.

Stodgepole eats carefully, picking out flavors and spices and even some techniques.

"This is...delicious"

"Miss June, you have outdone yourself."

"Thank you. The gravy is an old family recipe, I'm of the Hearth, not sure if you'd know wwhat that means, though I'm not THE hearth no"

Scooping up gravy with a biscuit. "I have a passing familiarity with troll lodges, yes, I understand."

June nods says as the gravy is sopped up with a biscuit, "I see you're used to country eating sir."

CC is being more 'urban' about it, but is enjoying

A chuckle. "When food is this good...."

Finally, and with regret, he slides the empty, polished plate away slightly and wipes his lips. "Oh my."

And CC agrees, "Your child is not going to want for good food"

"Well, of course not, it's a farm" June says but does look flattered, "Please tell Caesar what I said."

Stodgepole nods. "Will you cook for him, as well?" Perhaps a little good natured teasing there.

"Well, of course, I'm not a Savage" The woman says

"Of course not." Appreciatively. "He will come."

"Well, I need to get back to my tasks, and no sir, you don't need to help. I know enough about boggan magic to know I'd just be slowing hyou down to work by you and we won't have you working there alone"

An expression of concern. "Are you sure? I said I would, and I meant it."

"Proud, remember? " She says "Besides, I'm nowhere near the time I'll be working myself too hard for the baby"

"True." Reluctant. "It's just, I said I would. But if you're sure?"

"I'm sure" She says "Think of it as my way for apologizing for my hackles up"

"My dear, in this situation, I think it's an eminently sensible precaution, and completely understandable. Thank you for your hospitality, Miss June, your understanding, and your generous acceptance of our request."

Then she adds, "Besides, Ryker took you here...and by now he'll be done. No need to make him suffer"

CC raises a brow at that

"Suffer?"

"Oh he..he provides for his family, but it... there are challenges.. I said too much" She demures

"Ah. Yes, of course. Forgive my prying."

And so the two head out, and See Ryker waiting for them by the car.

Jolly-uncle Emerson. "All is well, Mr. Ryker?"

"It's... done. She talked to you both I hope?" He opens the doors for them

"She did, and there is hope." He gets in.

They drive back, CC asks Once they're on their way "Safe to talk yet?"

William's eyes cut to the DeBuke in the car, and back.

"About what?" casually.

"NEvermind" She sighs

Ryker seems more relaxed as they pull away from the farm but not much more. Whatever the talk was about , he didn't enjoy.

"Nothing like visiting family, hm, Mr. Ryker?"

"Be it ever so humbling" The Kinain bouncer says

"Did you find it so?"
