"I'm sure you do." The boggan delivers a load of squash to the baskets and ... wow he does a lot of work pretty quickly.... picks up an empty punnet.

"Miss June, may I ask what you believe brought us here?"

"I don't claim to know. " She says "But I imagine if April talked it deals with us having Caesar's seed planted pert deep in us" DIgnity forced "Maybe he wants to show a little pity. I don't know"

A glance at Callidora.

"Why do people assume satyrs are only about the carnal?" CC sighs "it's a big part of who were , but it's not all. Young lady, speaking as a mother who raised her own child by herself only, a little help goes a long way, but more than that,... my son loves kids. He didn't plan this, but I assure you, he'd be a good dad. And I will be an AMAZING grandmother"

The kinain turns and looks at the shorter woman, "So he's laying claim?" A bit of fight in her.

CC says "He's trying to do the right thing" She looks at Bill. Clearly hoping he'll join in this.

"Miss June." He tries, wiping his forehead. "Might we step inside somewhere private for a glass and some quiet talk? I promise you I'll help here afterwards. It will be done quickly."

"I suppose you've earned a break" SHe says "FOllow me, please. "

He follows dutifully, with a quick glance of mischief at Callidora as he goes.

And she leads them towards a tall cabin and she urges them in. "Here's something of a sitting room. It's got a few drinks, lemonade, milk or water?"

CC goes in "Lemonade sounds wonderful." She does look curiously at him, wondering what her love kraken has in mind.

"Lemonade, thank you." He takes a seat.

June serves them both with polished hospitality, "Fine. Look. I have no malice towards your son. Obviously or I'd not have..." She blushes. Redheads really light up when they do that.

"The point is" She continues, "I don't need a husband, and the child will have more family than she or he can handle. I like it on the farm. I'm not crazy about changing where I live or waht I do, and I'd like her to be raised in the DeBuke way"

He finds the blush charming. "Of course." Confirming her decision, agreeing with it.

"I agree with you on every count." Sip.

"Further more I resent the implication city folk have of..." June stops confused "you do?"

"Yes."

"This farm is a marvelous place, powerful and, obviously, fertile. The DeBukes have a growing reputation as a strong family that values those bonds and teaches both Kith and Kin what is important. You most certainly don't -need- a husband. Although, of course, if you wanted one you should have one." Sip.

"Then I'm a wondering on to why you folks came out here, if you realize it's all handled." June Maude says getting herself a glass.

"Come join us?" he invites.

"Im' right here with you now" She points out

CC smiles "He means, please, sit down. This isn't meant to be an interrogation, well, at least not on our part"

June sits takes a seat "Well, fine. I'm sitting. What is it you two want?"

Despite being more traditional than her sisters in some way she seems ready for a fight...and surprised there isn't one.

A gentle smile. "Thank you." Sip. "I will let Miss CC speak for herself, but I believe what she wishes is simply to stay in touch. Visit. Know the child as he, or she, grows. Be known -by- the child."

CC nods, "Caesar is my only child, and while I'd like to think I've been a good mother. I would love to have a chance to be a grandmother. "

June Maude frowns as she is taken off guard,"I don't... well, I don't deny any woman might want to, but I don't know if I trust all the ways of folks outside the farm. I... I mean ahem, clearly Caesar impressed us.. me. but I never expected him.. or any one else to be a regular part of our lives."

""What do you do for a living ,Miss CC?" She follows

"I run a club, and I sing at it..with my partner here, of course" CC says.

"Well, I'd prefer to raise my daughter.. .or son, on something practical, no offense" June says.

CC IS offended, but only Bill can tell.

"That is your decision entirely, of course. I'm sure we'd support you in that. Although I would ask you to let her sing lullabies, at least. She really does have a beautiful voice."

"Thank you, dear" CC says.

A smile to her.

"Just , well, we've been raising trolls for near a century here on this farm, trolls and troll kinain . And traditions are important" June Maude says perhaps realizing she was a bit rude.

CC looks to Bill, takes a breath and then says "But June-Maude. What if she.. or he, is a satyr kinian, or even becomes a full blooded satyr?"

Bill is watching, always...and for a moment, June-Maude DeBuke shows an expression of absolute terror. Not a bias against satyrs, but that realization that she might be utterly incompetent in a particular set of circumstances.

Bill is perfectly content letting it sink in.

As if to underline the point - a boom from Mara's "workshop" barn...

"Damn it, Mara..." June Maude mutters.

"Mara?" CC asks

"She's a second and a half cousin... a nocker..first non troll born since Caspian DeBuke and..." She looks down at her own belly.

"Now, there is no way... there are very few ways of accurately predicting what Fae soul, if any, might come to be." Gently. "You are entirely correct, June, it might be troll, or troll-kin, or simply and adorably human and entirely yours.

"She IS mine" June insists.

CC raises a brow, and exchanges a look. It's pretty obvious June is hoping for a daughter over a son.

"Yes!" Agreeing.
