Meanwhile, Mara is working... reading through books, trying to figure out how to make a system for the well. It's frustrating, as mundane techniques keep turning south when faced with the chimerical qualities of the Farm...

Mara looks up from the middle of chaos - scribbled notes, fizzled and burnt experiments, broken glass....

Bix blinks "Okay, the glass I don't get." He moves over and makes sure she's not cut. He can't help it. He's a troll.

"Chemical reactions don't work right! I had the (&$@& book and did every furkin' step and measure fifty-seven gorram times and everything!"

"Chemicals..whew..." He sits down, "Considering mostly we work with engine oil, that's a pretty big leap." A snap of his fingers "Have you thought of glazing the surface with a safer oil that might catch other polutants while the pump draws from the lower area of regular water?"

"It doesn't work!"

"Okay... how about a particulate sifter?" Is he serious or is he making up words that sound impressive?

"Maybe, but if it's a liquid contaminant, I don't think it'd do drek..."

"Well, if we knew what they were using exactlly..." He starts to say the obvious.

"But we don't"

"Oh yeah. SHame we can't ward everything that is liquid but not water." he sighs "Would help here...heck..water wards would also make fishing a cheat"

A frustrated noise. "I don't know warding magic."

"Me neither..but maybe uncle Emmit could help? it's allowed to ask for help you know? It's okay if we need it now and then" Bix says
