They're trying to make some of the DeBuke Wilder girls...line dance

"Okay, no no... strut strut Step...like this" Sally Mae says

Oh no, this isi hell.

Sally Mae, most often at Rivervale, is here to collect cousins

"Sorry, Sally Mae," One of their cousins says "I thought it was strut strut step step?"

"no, but it leads into a step step strut" Sally mae explains, "Look, we do this right we can win that contest"

Mara shakes her head and turns the carburetor over in her hand. Project to work on!

"Mara? We need you for this too... " Sally Mae says

"If I have to do this she has to do it" Another says.

"Clem told me I could 'grab a handful of you so that weren't farming... and looked decent enough..well, that was the basic." Sally Mae says "Come on Mara, we need a few girls that are shorter for the visuals"

"I wasn't farming, doesn't mean I don't have stuff to do."

"Come on, if we can win this, the prize is I have my text books next year paid off PLUS every cousin gets a gift card at the Whistle and Holler ...food's good" Sally mae says, "Do you know how much text books cost?"

"Uhg." Sigh.

"How Much are the gift cards for?" One girl says

"Fifty dollars... that's pretty good right?" A smile

One of them gives a 'meh' thing "Depends on how over priced the food is"

Sally Mae sighs "Come on now... Tove was nice enough to tell me about this possibility"

She sets the part aside and shuffles over.

"Thank you," Sally Mae says, "I'll owe each and every one of you if this wins."

"SO much."

"You'll love it... it's a great way to tone too" Sally Mae smiles and hands out the hats.

She rolls her eyes and takes a hat.

"How's Clem get out of this again?" One asks.

"As Chief, she's very very busy" Sally Mae says "Now...the turn is pivotal..."

"Clem likes line dancing.."

"She probably needs the furkin' break!"

"Well, I asked, and she said she was too busy. " Sally mae says and... mutters something.

Sally Mae gets the music going on her phone....

and Mara wonders if she could improve the speaker quality

It's a touch on the tinny side

She ponders this, falling off-step.

Of course, Sally Mae notices, "Everything okay, Mara?"

Sally Mae used to be more of a bitch... but has become nicer over the years. Also, she knows she can't afford to risk losing dancers by being all shrew about it

"Oh, sorry. Was thinkin'..."

"WHy don't we take a break... I want you all able to focus and it's not just you so that makes me thinking my timing is off today. How about after lunch? "

A few shrugs, a couple of nods.

"Sally Mae, can I see your phone? I think I can fix that tinny sound..."

"that's what you're... fine" She hands it over "long as it can play music when you're done"

The others take that break, while Mara gets to work with a cellphone. It's different from her usual projects, small, compact, very modern compared to somethings.

"Sure, sure..." She's careful. She doesn't want to break the thing.

And suddenly, Mara finds herself lost in a world of tiny screws, circuits and tiny wires... her mind drinks it all in like a pioneer might take in a view when they see a new horizon.

Of course she doesn't break it. She's got nimble nocker fingers, not those troll sized sausages.

Excuse to use her tiny screwdriver!

Though she might use the glare more - there, POS resonator, it's slightly off center so it...

... there we go... mm this sure shows the limits of cookie cutter factory assembly... it could be so much better in a lot of ways

If she re-punches the hole... ok, take it off the pin and.... careful!
