They savor the meal, and CC makes small talk about the grand kids, about song selections, and a bit of gossip.

And of course, Emerson is a boggan so he's ahead of the gossip. Seems these carriage abductions have made folks nervous.

At least the abductors have one less victim.

"And our new nocker friend has been doing discount costumes for me while he gets mentored by Betrand"

"No.... costume malfunctions?"

"Ah, yes, well, I like to think of them as 'happy little accidents'" She steals shamelessly from late artist Bob Ross.

"I know I certainly do."

"Anyway, most of his errors have been small things like 52 stars on a dress meant to look like the US Flag in design, or a zipper that's a bit loud when opened."

Willam considers this, dabbing a bit of sauce from his fingers with his tongue. "Hm. Did the zipper say anything, or was it just the mechanical noise, loud?"

"Sounds like a rusty canal gate opening or bridge lowering" a grin.

"Well, I suppose as long as your microphone is muted...."

"YEah.." Sheepish "Actually, one of the male dancers took a bathroom break and scared the others guys at the urinals"

she snickers a bit

That makes him chortle.

"I am not a peeping tomasina.. normally, but in this case.. I wish I'd been a fly on the wall. Regardless, we can work with it and It's cut our costuming budget by 22%" Pleased.

"I have no concerns about spending money to adorn you, Dearest."

"And I adore that, but I also don't want either us being played for chumps. A bargain is worthy of a hunt"

"Aaah." he nods sagely and sips his wine "The feminine hunter."

A smile "Kept me alive when I was a young mother. A yard sale was a jungle"

He takes her hand from across the table, and squeezes it. "Those days are behind you."

"They are" She actually allows a bit of tension to escape that she wasn't aware had built up "But best to keep the hunting skills sharp anyway"

"Agreed."

"See, now I want to find you a bow tie at a discount store or something" She admires his neck "You look good in a bow tie"

Neck? I mean... his head joins his body, true, but....

Apparently she likes whatever is connecting them

"Perhaps I can come up with an inventive way to model one for you."

"ooo" her hoof taps against the floor lightly in interest "Whatever will I wear for you in return?"

"Your hat." with a smile.

A slow smile rises , good memories at that, "How about I let you pick the hat as well?"

"You -know- the one I like best." he purrs.

A smile falls across her features "Yes, I do." A wink "And i'ts never far away"

"A thought that warms the cockles of my heart, I assure you."

"Your heart has nice cockles, but perhaps a visit to your general pracitioner will make sure they're in good shape" A wink

William chuckles "If you haven't killed me yet....."

"What a way to go?" Playfully

"I can think of nothing so blissful."
